So, I didn’t get anything sewed up this past week.  That’s okay.  But not really, since I have a ton do yet.  The swimsuit I put on Anya on Sunday was a little small on top and hard to get off.  I think I ripped some seams.  😉

I thought I would post our current yard project that has been completed, curtesy of the hubby.  These are our brand spankin’ new garden paths.  We needed some definition in our garden areas since the kids love to walk on our plants.  This gives them some idea of where to walk…of course, they still don’t always use them.  Kids…what are you gonna do with them??  Home depot had these travertine stone sets that are on a wire mesh.  There have about 5 stones on each, so he just positioned them and filled in around with pea gravel or sand.

This already had some heavy stone stairs that ended at the top of the little hill.  Brian laid a path from the garage door to the where the original path ended.  Some of the stones have cracked since they are a bit too thin, so that is a bit sucky.  They are a lot cheaper and lighter that the big stones that we would have rather purchased, however they were CHEAPER.  We’ve been wanting to get this done for a few years, and we finally found a cheaper alternative that looked nice.

This was the long one (just ignore that garden hose there…I was too lazy to move it for the picture).  It meanders from the side gate to our stone patio.  Initially, he spread sand and placed them on that, but it wasn’t sturdy enough and the sand was washing away a bit.  He made another couple of trips to the Home Depot and pick up a bunch of those stones and edged the path.  It is much sturdier now and looks nicer with some definition keeping it in.  We (as in the hubby) planted different types of Lamium plants along the edges.  In a few years they will spread and seed themselves all over the area, and we are really looking forward to that.  They even flower, so that’s another thing we love. 🙂

This is just because I love my little fairies in the garden. 🙂

On a different note, we need to really watch our doors.  We have a three season porch and someone (probably someone smallish) left one of the doors open a bit.  Enough for the cat to escape.  Which I saw at 10pm on Sunday night.  Luckily she had just found her escape hatch and Brian found her wandering around the stone patio.  She was a stray cat before she landed in our luxurious accomidations, so we’re not really sure if she would stick around.  We live by some busy-ish roads (where people routinely go 10 mph above the speed limit), and we don’t want her to get killed.   We wouldn’t mind her being in the yard to scare away the bunnies, but we just don’t want her to leave.

I also had a photo shoot on Monday evening with little baby M again for her 9 months pictures.  They will be forthcoming as soon as I get a chance to edit them. 🙂
