This past weekend I had some time to sew, so I made up a few things for myself.  One of these was a shirt that was supposed to be the muslin for another shirt I wanted to make.  It didn’t quite happen that way, though, since this didn’t turn out like I wanted.  It ended up being too big, which is why I have that pleat thing in the center front.  I was trying to draft a shirt that had darts in it, but I had too much extra in there.

Next time, I guess.

So…here is a shirt with straight 3/4 length sleeves and a big ole collar.  It is another super long rectangle that I draped around the neckline and then sewed it down once I had the look I wanted to achieve.

The shirt is made of some kind of stretch shirting material.  It is fairly light and stretchy.  The collar lays pretty much any way you want it to go.  I like it better in the picture above, but I was getting ready in a hurry on a Monday morning.  I wasn’t paying too much attention to how I was placing it.

I am wearing it here with a skirt I made last winter.

I also made another outfit this weekend, and will hopefully get pictures of it this week.  I just need some shoesssssss.  I don’t seem to have shoes to match, so maybe I will see if the big, new shoe store by me has some dark navy shoes.  I tried it on and love how it fits.  Good stuff!
