A new personal best…2.5 days

2009-12-21_4933

I borrowed them from our niece who brought over the books on Sunday.  We had a nice holiday celebration and they all left around 8pm.  After a little picking up I started in and proceeded to read them for the next 2 days or so.  I got done with the last book at 4am last night (this morning?).  I can be a bit obsessive at times when I am reading.  Books like this are pretty easy to get through fast, since it is geared towards a younger set.  Not a lot of big words in those 2400 pages.  She actually used BFF at one point.

One nice thing that came out if was that since I didn’t really eat anything over the last few days I was able to fit into a pair of jeans that I hadn’t worn in over a year.    It’s given me a bit of motivation to actually watch how much I am eating.  You can get used to hunger pains when you have them for several days straight. ;)

I am trying to work on learning my new camera.  I’m having a little focus issue, but I think it is mostly because it is a bit heavier than my other camera.  I need to work on holding it stiller, since I am trying to use the back button focusing now.  That seems easier on this camera than it was on my other one.  Hopefully I will get it all figured out soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays.  I have YET to get my cards in the mail…so not sure it’s getting done.  That whole obsessive reading thing kind of screwed up my schedule for doing a few things.  I need to get some presents done for the little ones, along with some Christmas jammies, so that is top priority right now.

I also need a nap.

  1. LOVED the books! The movies, not nearly as much. I was sick in bed when I got to read books 3 and 4, so not much interruption which was nice.

I resisted the Twilight series for a long time too, but once I started I was hooked. Can’t wait to see that new camera in action. Have a Merry Christmas.

I knew there was a reason I liked you! This is the kind of prioritising I do!!!! My sister just rang from the UK and is reading the fourth book now! She says it is ‘like a drug’! I am part way through the second but because I’ve seen the movie I’m not as addicted…plus there’s those shirts to sew before tomorrow………Good luck catching up!!!!

Two days for ALL the books?! Dang you’re a fast reader – I took about two days EACH book! They were a totally fun escape too. You can skip the movie, tho…honestly, they suck!
I’ve wondered how much of a learning curve there would be with a camera upgrade…can’t wait to see some serious shots with your new baby! I want to learn to back button focus, too

I am SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED! That is a lot of pages to cover, even if they are easy reads! Hope that your holidays were merry and bright — and WARM!

  11. Love your blogsite!!! I just had to check it out because my name is Kris Ann – and many of my friends call me K.A. as I sign most correspondance that way – so when I saw “Land of K.A.” – it just had my name written all over it!!!

Blessings in the New Year! I’ll be sure to check back periodially! :-)

WHAH that’s hilarous! I’ve read them all too and you’re so right about the big word issue. I also read all the Vampire Diary books too, as the teenage daughter has an interest there too. I found I liked them better and it was nice to see the main character have human friends for a change. ;)

Wow, 2.5 days! You and a bunch of my friends have done the same thing. I on the other hand take forever to read a book. I was given Twilight by a friend and finished it days before the movie. Then she gave me New Moon which I started in June on Vacation and then did not finish until the Monday before the movie was out. I now have Eclipse and have actually started it but I am hoping to finish it before June when the next movie is out. I am so pathetic (LOL)!!!!

  14. I too can get obsessed with reading and end up staying up all hours of the night just to finish it. I haven’t read that series but may have to so I can see what all the fuss is about.

Two weeks for all the books.
    Love backbutton focus.

Is your new camera full frame? I love that about my new camera.

And, obviously, loving catching up here!
