Today we went up North (apparently along with the rest of the metro area) to go see Brian’s family. His mother’s birthday was yesterday, so we were going to spend the afternoon up there to visit and have some birthday cake.
We ran into a bit of holiday weekend traffic and road construction that set us back 45 minutes as we crawled along the highway. The kids were happily watching Undercover Dora in the back. What did we do before DVD players in the car?? Apparently, parents went insane. At least that is how we feel when we DON’T let them watch it. 😉
Our day…
Happy birthday, Grandma!
Little helper…feeding the horses
First family picture of the year
Hi Chex!
Hey there baby calf!
We headed home as the sun was setting. I really wanted to pull over and grab my camera as the red sun was setting over the river valley. I didn’t want to wake the sleeping princess in the back, though, so I kept on driving. It was quite pretty. Guess I’ll have to rely on my rather flawed memory to remember it. 🙂
Love the family picture !
What a lovely family! And the name Chex made me laugh.
loved the pictures. It’s refreshing to know that we aren’t the only ones with traffic jams…LOL
Itty Bit and I jumped on my quad last night and went scouting. If it had only been Tuesday instead of Saturday evening my hunt would of been over, we saw a huge bull elk…
Stood and watched us at about 45yards…and I didn’t listen to Rach and take the camera…
So I am in the same boat,,,I have to depend on a flawed memory to recall that one…LOL
Yep… I told Mr. Daddy if he didn’t take the camera, he would be BOUND to see something click-worthy 🙂
As it was, that huge bull elk was *not* the memorable part of the adventure for Itty Bit. All he wanted to talk about upon their return was how he got to be Nature Boy and pee in the grass next to the “deer poop”. BOYS.
Love the pictures! Your family photo turned out GREAT! I’ll have to get ours up soon (we considered it for a Christmas card, but figured the automatic weapons were a bit much, ha ha).
And of course, love the shot of Chex 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful day!
I love, love, LOVE that dress!!! Did you make it?
you guys sure are a good lookin’ crew!
Looks like a nice time with Grandma. I love Anya’s dress!
I am not sure what people do without DVD players in the car. It is a lifesaver for us. Looks like you guys had a great time. Yeah, for getting a family photo too.
The family shot is excellent! You guys are such a good looking family. 🙂 Looks like a great visit too. Of course I think getting a chance to pet horses is always a good time.
You are so lucky to have relatives on the land. What a great experience for the kids right at their fingertips (and at the end of motorway congestion). Did you make that dress of Anya’s? She looks beautiful.
