The other day Brian recounted a tale…<\/p>\n

He was working on something, in the kitchen of course, and I was away somewhere.\u00a0 Needing an extra pair of hands he called out to Kailan, ever present in front of the computer, and only a few feet away.<\/p>\n

“Kai, can you come over to help me?”, his father requested of the child.<\/p>\n

No response.<\/p>\n

“Kailan, did you hear me?”, his father again asking him in a slightly annoyed voice.<\/p>\n

No response.<\/p>\n

“KAI!”<\/p>\n

Finally his eyes release their grip on Nickjr.com, and he looks at his father, wide-eyed. “What?!”<\/p>\n

“Did you hear me?\u00a0 I asked you\u00a0to come over here.”<\/p>\n

“Oh.\u00a0 Well, I was going to say, No.”\u00a0 He looks back at the computer screen.<\/p>\n

A bit taken aback by such words, his father proceeded to expouse the rules of the household to the young lad.\u00a0 “Let me explain something to you that my father taught me.\u00a0 When I ask you to come help, I’m just being polite<\/em>.\u00a0 It wasn’t a request, Son<\/strong>!”<\/p>\n

Life is a constant learning process, and they are constantly learning that saying “No” to the parental unit is not an option LOL!<\/p>\n
