Our temper tantrum prone child got his first taste of just how truly unfair the world is and the extensive repertoire of torture his parents will use for no reason at all.<\/font><\/p>\n

Let me set the scene for you\u2026<\/font><\/p>\n

We spent Saturday night at Grandma and Grandpa C.\u2019s house, where there was a fish fry party (lots of food, sweets, and of course\u2026fish).\u00a0 He partook of a few brownies and played late into the night, well past his bedtime.\u00a0 He slept all night long and took an early nap on the ride home.\u00a0 We thought all was well, not too much of an interruption to the Schedule.\u00a0 Schedules are very important with children, since if they get off of their schedules it is akin to a derailed train — Mass Hysteria.\u00a0 <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

All was well for most of the day, but he started to get a bit \u201cowly\u201d around 6 pm.\u00a0 Then the fun started.\u00a0 Mommy started the torture by not letting him watch The Lion King 2.\u00a0 Of course he had already watched a few movies by this time\u2026and a few StarGate episodes.\u00a0 I thought it would be novel for him to actually play with the toys that we used half his college fund buying for him.\u00a0 After telling him \u201cNo movie\u201d several times, he decided to swat at me.\u00a0 Of course this looks cute as heck to me\u2026his little determined face, all affronted that I would not let him watch a precious movie, and him swatting at me with the force that would knock out an ant for two seconds.<\/font><\/p>\n

I try not laugh, but a smile still reaches the corner of my mouth.\u00a0 He is further affronted by this.<\/font><\/p>\n

Upstairs we go with him SCREAMING at the top of his lungs for a movie.\u00a0 Daddy and I try to talk him down and attempt to play with him.\u00a0 He just throws himself on the ground as his frustrated parents look on.\u00a0 At this point Anya was starting to get thoroughly upset by the whole situation.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure the screaming hurt her ears, as well as ours, but I also think she thought there was actually something wrong.\u00a0 Her brother must be in dire pain for all the racket he was making!<\/font><\/p>\n

Daddy proceeded with torture #2 \u2013 he warned him that if he did not stop then he would be going to bed with no supper.\u00a0 Kailan proceeded to scream louder, his whole body thrashing on the ground.\u00a0 At this point Anya and I exit room so she doesn\u2019t get more upset.\u00a0 She would obviously think that he was being poked by a thousand invisible needles, with immunizations being the only point of reference she would have for tortuous pain.<\/font><\/p>\n

Daddy then started warning Kai further as he proceeds to put jammies on the thrashing child.\u00a0 This is frustrating his father further as putting his jammies on is like trying to wrestle an octopus.\u00a0 Kailan was then placed in his crib, arms outstretched for Daddy\u2026and then Daddy closed the door.\u00a0 Several minutes of screaming ensue before he fell asleep.<\/font><\/p>\n

Upon waking this morning\u2026\u201dWhere\u2019s Daddy?\u201d\u00a0 Yes, he still loves the Chief Torturer.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
