Kai, being the first child, has been screwed the last few years.\u00a0 No Easter basket.\u00a0 Really\u2026he wouldn\u2019t remember it anyway and he gets enough stuff when it isn\u2019t a holiday due to my shopping addiction.\u00a0 This year, we did baskets for both kids.\u00a0 Kailan scored big with a rare chocolate treat \u2013 M&M\u2019s in little plastic Easter eggs.\u00a0 Of course, the darn things broke open and Kailan dutifully helped me clean them up by putting them all in his mouth\u2026at 6:30 am.\u00a0 The beginnings of a wonderful, sugar-filled day.\u00a0 From a toddler\u2019s point of view\u2026it just can\u2019t get any better: toys AND sugar.<\/font><\/p>\n

Of course for a parent, filling a precocious two year old with sugar before a car trip is the equivalent of chumming for sharks, caging one and bleeding openly before them.\u00a0 They just want to escape so they can attack you.<\/font><\/p>\n

That would be the reason for the toys.\u00a0 We were going to be in the car Easter morning during a non-nap time.\u00a0 We usually try to time the car trips so that our children are passed out.\u00a0 It is much easier to listen to them sleep rather than listening to them scream.\u00a0 I wanted Kai to have some new toys to play with so he would be occupied.\u00a0 Anya fell asleep after sucking on one her new stuffed animal\u2019s tag so all was good.\u00a0 No screaming at all on the way up.\u00a0 Score one for the conniving parents!<\/font><\/p>\n

Church was just as much fun as I thought it would be.\u00a0 We were pretty good for the first 15-20 minutes and I loved when everyone would start singing, since then both kids wouldn\u2019t be heard by the whole congregation for two minutes.\u00a0 We tried to ply them with Cheerios and toys, and only had to take them out once each.\u00a0 Pretty good!\u00a0 The pastor even blessed them, so now they are good until we make church again next year.<\/font><\/p>\n

Kai enjoyed the day on the farm, and had to go outside every chance he could get.\u00a0 He got some sweets, and being the 2 year old that he is, didn\u2019t finish them all.\u00a0 I was actually quite shocked by that, but he actually ate a few pieces at lunch of the yummy food, so we can\u2019t complain too much.\u00a0 I think Anya ate more than he did actually.\u00a0 Since Kai hasn\u2019t gained much weight at all in the last year, she should be catching up to him in the next month or two with how she eats compared to him.<\/font><\/p>\n

On the ride home we finally got a nap out of Kai and Anya slept most of the way again.\u00a0 Only a little screaming on the last half of the trip.\u00a0 Kai only slept a half hour, but I\u2019m sure he woke up because his head was just hanging out to the side.\u00a0 I can only imagine the crick in his neck when he awoke!\u00a0 If I wasn\u2019t driving I would have taken a picture.\u00a0 It looked funny \u2013 albeit painful.\u00a0 For now, you will just have to deal with these pictures from Easter morn:<\/font><\/p>\n
