Well, we are done with round one – the friends – and over the next week it will be round two – the families.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One thing that would be nice, is if we could schedule Old Man Winter to keep his grumpy self under covers until after the holidays.\u00a0 I spent about 2.5-3 hours this afternoon clutching my steering wheel trying to keep the car on the road.\u00a0 Thank goodness for 4-wheel drive!\u00a0 Did I mention that my check engine light came on about 2 miles into the drive??\u00a0 Ugh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I was the slow momma on the road, carrying my precious cargo, and going a safe driving speed for the nearly white-out conditions, at times.\u00a0 Then, there would be a minivan that would pass me going 10 miles over the speed limit, closely followed by one on of those tiny cars that weigh about as much as my left thigh.\u00a0 Apparently they didn’t realize how HORRIBLE<\/em> the roads were…or they were just in a hurry.\u00a0 Good idea…<\/em><\/p>\n

When we were about an hour or so from home, the accidents started to pile up and at one point we saw 4-5 EMT vehicles waiting on an on-ramp to the interstate.\u00a0 We imagined that they were just waiting to be called out to the scene of an accident, not unlike one we had just passed where a person was on a stretcher being put into a waiting ambulance.\u00a0 Then, I started going even slower.\u00a0 We made it home safe and sound, with only one potty break.<\/p>\n

All in all, we had a great weekend.\u00a0 On Friday night we hosted a party for some friends, and we regaled in Christmas cheer.\u00a0 I took lots of pictures of this little one…don’t you just want to pinch her little cheeks??<\/p>\n

Then on Saturday we drove to my hometown to have a holiday get-together with my old neighbors\/family\/friends.\u00a0 It’s funny, since I think of them as family, but they aren’t.\u00a0 They are relations of my relations, but since I grew up with everyone, they are pretty much family.<\/p>\n

It was at my friend’s house and I got to see her little guy, Baby Boy T., who is doing pretty well right now.\u00a0 I got to hold him a lot, so that was nice. \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 He’s still a little peanut, and a somber young lad.<\/p>\n

Then her hubby got her another baby for Christmas, Remington (Remi), who is too adorable:<\/p>\n

That was our weekend.\u00a0 A bit of running around and running ragged.\u00a0 Tomorrow we will be hosting one side of my family at our house, so I better get to bed and rest up!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
