I bought Anya some jeans from Justice when they went on sale.  I concede that making jeans is not my favorite thing to do, though I am getting a bit better at it.  Finding decent bottom weights with lycra and fun colors is not the easiest, though.  I was just fine with whipping out my credit card!

This shirt is made to match one of those jeans, but alas we are now into summer, so they won’t get worn until it cools off a bit.  At least she will have some outfits for Fall.   🙂

This is a neon greenish/yellow knit that had sequins sewn into it.  I added some black stretch lace to bring the 80’s fully to the forefront on it.  I used FOE to bind the armholes and the edge of the lace on the back neckline.  I am getting to really like being able to use this elastic for these uses.  Makes it easier on me!

The butterfly embellishment has sequins and beads on it, so I couldn’t sew it on with my sewing machine.  Hand sewing is getting more cathartic for me, and less of a PITA.  It all in your perspective, right?

I lined the front and the sides of the shirt, as I know my daughter is sensitive to anything remotely scratchy.  I figured the sequins in the seams would be scratchy.

It turned out pretty good and fit her well, so one summer shirt down.  Much more to go, since she needs some new summer clothes.  At least tank tops are easy to make!

Then, I got a lovely little package in the mail from Simple Simon and Co. It was one of my prizes from competing in Skirt Fixation’s Adult Create.  Thanks, Ladies!

Now I need to finish up an outfit for Kai.  Both me and my computer have been out of commission.  I am starting to feel human again, so I have a bit of energy to sew.   This shirt was from a good two weeks ago.  My computer’s power supply died on me, so hubby had to order a new part and then he fixed it for me.  It is nice to have a computer savvy person in the house!
