Today I have to go on a business trip to San Francisco, or more specifically, Redwood City, CA.  It’s at a very nice place, but the conference looks REALLY boring and I HATE networking with a passion.  Nothing like making small talk with complete strangers to make you want to shove needles in your eyes.  I haven’t gone to one since before Kai was born so I guess I’m due.  I’ll be getting back home on Friday afternoon.  Of course the flight leaves today when there are supposed to be severe storms going through the area, with hail and straight-line winds.  Great.

When I was dropping the kiddos off at daycare this morning I almost started crying.  I haven’t been away from them for this long since Kai was 6 months old.   Leaving Kai was tough, but not as tough as today, since now I have two kids to miss and not just one.  Also, Kai still wasn’t sleeping through the night at that point so I was just looking forward to being able to sleep!

Anya woke up crying a few times last night, which she rarely ever does, so I wonder if she can sense that I’m uneasy.  Kids are good at that stuff.  Really, really not looking forward to this trip.

Right now Brian’s foot is going through one of its “hurting real bad” phases.  He can barely walk and now he has to take care of the kids by himself for a few days.  He ain’t gonna be having any fun, either!

So, I’ll have some time to write a few blog entries on the plane to San Fran.  Look forward to a plethora of them this week!
