I got a few things sewn up over the last few months for me…
This is a simple tank top out of a really fun fabric. The fabric has lycra in it with different elasticities for each of the stripe sections. I cut it so the black was the boob area, since that had more room in it. This was from the “give and take” table at the sewing retreat I went to in June, so someone else didn’t want to have it anymore. It was only a yard, but enough to make a nice dressy tank top out of it. I didn’t have black to bind the armholes and neck, so that had to wait until I got home.
This skirt didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted it. It is too wide and just not tight enough around the hips and waist. It has a curved front piece that you can’t see. Guess that is what happens when you don’t put anything there to accentuate it, huh?
The cream shirt is one I made last year, I think.
Then here is another dressy tank top for work for summer. It is made of a slippery rayon material. It is a bit too tight across the bust, but it does fit. It’s just not super comfortable. I forgot to get a picture of it worn.
Lastly, here is what I call my “vodka top”. 🙂 If you look closely it has a lot of Russian stereotypes on the print, including several pictures of vodka bottles and bottle labels. I thought it was a wild and fun print.
The fabric is rayon and I made it using a pattern I drafted last year, at some point. The neckline I did differently. I wanted to do a big rolled tube for the neckline, but I cut one of the pieces wrong. I didn’t have enough fabric left for that. I ended up cutting a few pieces on the bias that were too long for the neckline. I did a small hem on one side and then attached to the neckline. I met the extra fabric in the middle and pleated it up a bit. I like how it turned out!
The skirt I made last year, I think.
Now I need to get pictures of Anya in the clothes I have made her!
Great job on all the sewing for you.
