We are so lucky that we bought a house near a nature preserve. We didn’t know it at the time, but a neighbor informed us about it. I wasn’t expecting much, but when we finally went to find the path to the lake we were pleasantly surprised to find a much larger nature area than we thought.
A few nights ago we went for a walk around the little lake, which is probably a few miles total. The unpaved side has the lake on one side and a marsh on the other. When we started down the path, it was so funny to see all the frogs. There were tons of them. So much that we had to constantly watch our step to make sure we weren’t stepping on the little guys. It was dusk, so they were out in full force serenading us…and their potential mates. 😉
After I picked up the first frog to show them, the kids were trying to catch their own frogs. It was a fun walk and we got home way late. It was pretty much full on dark by the time we made it home.
what a beautiful place!
Can you hear me? Ooooo! Ahhhhhh! Lucky indeed and pretty nifty with a camera and no mistake.
Cheers
amazingly beautiful!
To me, that’s even better than living in the country. You have the best of both worlds…nature right there at your fingertips, but also all the conveniences of city life! That nature preserve is awesome…you really lucked out moving next to that! It’s a photographer’s dream, really!
And those froggies are cute. 🙂
Oh, I love it! We’re in the same situation. Technically in the city, but there’s a forest and trails behind our house.
I’m thankful each morning when I look out our bedroom window.
Thank you for sharing…these shots are absolutely beautiful! Just what my morning coffee needed…
It’s wonderful living so close to nature, I couldn’t agree with you more. Your water reflection pictures are wonderful. It’s great to be able to let the kids roam around outside. 🙂
Its so nice that you live next to open land like that! We back up to some woods, but haven’t had too many chances to explore since the kiddos are still so young…but, i’m looking forward to walks like this when they get a little older!
wow..I can almost hear the lapping water, crickets, and tree frogs. What a nice little piece of heaven you have so close.
How gorgeous! I Love catching frogs 🙂
You are so lucky to have that nearby!
Wow, what a beautiful place to have near by! I agree with Christine, the best of both worlds!
Completely, peacefully serene moments captured by your eye and skill. Lovely.
Absolutely gorgeous! You are truly blessed!
Love the little froggy shot! And what a gorgeous spot, I bet you’ll be back, maybe for fall color!
Great shots. I love the first one and the one of Anya running. The reflection on the second one is great too!
