Last month I received a very sad postcard in the mail.
My local fabric store is closing, liquidating…going out of business.
*SOB*
The reason I make so much of Anya’s wardrobe is because their fabric is so much cheaper than regular fabric stores. It makes it a good deal to make instead of buy. Now I will have to do a big trek up north to the other fabric warehouse when I want buy fabric. Not ideal. At all.
Thus…operation FABRIC SPLURGE has ensued!
I have so much intent for these lovely fabrics. Now to see if they actually go through to fruition.
Oh, and I made this shirt…
And this shirt…
I drafted the patterns myself. I haven’t been sewing much lately, but hopefully I will get the urge more now that I have all this lovely fabric. I know several things I want to make, just finding the ENERGY is proving to be hard. I can’t wait for the break from work between Christmas and New Year’s. It is such a nice break to not have to do anything and I get a chance to get some sewing done. My FAVORITE time of year!
I had no idea all those stores were going out of business. It’s probably been a year and a half since I’ve shopped there. I wonder if there are any good fabrics left, do you think it’s still worth a trip before they close?
Maybe I’ll bump into you at the fabric warehouse up north, that has been my main fabric store for about the past 2 years.
Nice stack of fabrics you bought! Comfy shirts you sewed yourself. It is difficult finding energy these dark winter months, have fun sewing during your Christmas/New Years break!
