After a week of vacation, I’m happy to report I got some stuff accomplished. After painting *almost* all of the basement and my cousin’s visit, I was able to get some sewing done on Thursday and Friday. I even got some pictures of Anya wearing her Fall/Winter wardrobe since it turned decidedly cool. It was in the high 80’s on Labor Day, and then it barely reached 70 the rest of the week.
My crafting area in the now *mostly* painted unfinished basement. All the totes are pretty much stuffed full of fabric…and some of that fabric is now clothing! Believe it or not this is picked up. I’m a messy, messy sewer. Thus, why I have relegated myself to the basement.
I’ll post some of the outfits tomorrow for Crafty Tuesday, but I’ll keep some back. After making Anya 5 complete outfits (tops and bottoms), 2 bottoms, and 4 necklace sets for me, I’ll have some crafty blog fodder for a few weeks.
The weekend brought a get-together at our friends house on Friday night, and my childhood friend’s family visiting on Saturday and staying overnight. They needed some pictures taken and I was more than happy to oblige. You can find them here, if you are interested in seeing baby boy T. I was able satisfy my baby holding urge this weekend. Kai and Anya got to play with their bestest friend W., and a good time was had by all. 🙂
Today the weather was mildly better – short-sleeves worked alright and perhaps one of the last water gun fights of the summer. Hopefully not, though. Anya is wearing one of the bottoms I made her. Unfortunately they are a bit too long, but since she grew 2 inches over the summer I made them a bit longer.
Lying in wait…ready to strike!
The roses don’t realize summer is ending…they are still blooming!
I am with the roses… BLOOM roses, BLOOM!
I have several similarities in your post. I am a very messy sewer and have my sewing room on the unfinished side of the basement. My youngest two are growing so fast. They want me to sew their dresses for their oldest sisters wedding right now. No way, they would not fit into them next June. Also, our weather feels like October but the flowers are still beautiful. So I agree with Brittany, bloom roses bloom, it isn’t time for a frost and definitely not time for winter.
Can’t wait to see Anya’s new wardrobe.
Look at all that fabric girl! That’s so cool!
So, yeah, what’s the secret to that admirable productivity?
Beautiful bubble shots Stacy – she’s loaded! 🙂
I need some pants like Anya’s!
yeay for new sewing rooms!!!!
LOVE LOVE the last picture. I’m a sucker for budding roses
Craft spaces need to be messy, I think. I don’t know, somehow the messiness, even when it’s an organized mess and you know where everything is kind of mess, leads to creativity. Must be some left brain, right brain thing. 😉
Glad you got the paining done and all those outfits and jewelry! Can’t wait to see pictures.
Wow – your sewing room looks like a great place to be crafty! Even if it is in the basement – a great place to be able to leave projects unattended if you need to, too!
Oh, poor roses – one last hurrah before the snow flies!
I am totally jealous of your craft room. I wish I had a craft room…although I also wish that I was as crafty as you are!
I can’t believe how big Anya is getting – she looks so tall – and her hair so long! And the blue eyes on that boy…OY! You will be fending the girls off with a stick!
That last shot of the Rose is Beautiful. I also like that you are keepin it real with sew room.
Thanks for you comments about changing to flickr on my site. What a difference in clarity. Appreciate you took time to comment and help out. Have a wonderful week,.
Isn’t it great to have a space just for crafting?
Love the pics of the kids. Too cute!
so that’s where you create all your magic, huh? You are so productive…that’s a LOT to have gotten done!
Can’t believe you’re already getting chilly weather…we’re still waiting for the 90s to be over!
The rose shot is beautiful and Anya’s outfit is so cute. I hear ya on the weather.I’ve kinda enjoyed it, but would like summer to return now! Sounds like you got a lot done on your vacation.
whew…you always make me tired just reading about everything you accomplish! I know it feels great to get stuff done though…so you must be on a constant high!
