I love it when things work out.
This past week the kids started their first swimming lessons. Yes, we finally have them in an organized activity. We were able to get both kids in the same class, but didn’t get my first…or my second…choice of times. Since there was only three kids per class they needed to find one that had two openings.
We got to the class and as we were waiting for their class to start, one of Anya’s old daycare buds came walking over with her parents. They had a playdate this spring after A. had left daycare when her mom quit working full-time after baby #2. I was feeling guilty last week for not giving her mom a call and getting another one scheduled this summer, but our summer was so FULL on the weekends. Well…serendipity at it’s finest – the girls were in the same class! Yay!
The kids had a great time and the 1/2 hour class went by so fast. I was really impressed with their teacher and how she got the kids engaged and comfortable with the water. The classes are spendy, but the small class sizes and the ulta warm pool make it worthwhile. The classes go until December 15, so I think they are worth it.
The teacher said they all did really well and it was one of the only times she had a class for Littles 1 that no one cried! Kai was only upset when it was over – he had so much fun. He asked where he was going to next since there were lots of other classes going on. I explained to him that we were done for this time, but that we were going to be coming every week so he would be back. That staved off the whining I could see coming on. 😉
I’m really glad that the two A.’s can renew their friendship! 🙂
What friendships do you have to share today?
How lucky was that?!? Not only does it sound like your kiddos are going to love their class, but to meet a friend again is fantastic!
Spectacular water shots, cute waterbugs 😉

Love the color that you put on the photo, I have been messing around in photoshop trying to figure it out. Any chance you can give a tutorial?
Wow, only three kids in the class and the other just happened to be a friend? Amazing!
I experienced a little serendipity last night, when I came to check the theme for today and found that it was perfect for these photos I’d been needing to process and post from a playdate with friends we don’t see often enough: http://usr-bin-mom.com/index.php?page=entry&id=2335
That is wonderful they’re in the same class! Both that your kids are and a friend! I’m sure they will have a blast!
Cute little water bugs you have there!
My friendship story:
Thanks to the lovely internet, I just connected with an old friend yesterday–I hadn’t talked to her for over 7 years!!
Oh, I bet she was so excited to see her friend. My daughter took swim lessons this summer and 30 minutes goes by REALLY fast. I love how you processed these photos. The coloring is perfect.

Hi! I posted early this morning, but forgot to come by and comment. Oy!
Love your pics, mine are from swimming this summer.
I LOVE stories like this. ALMOST as much as I love the goggle shots. 🙂
How perfect that it ended up working out like that! Sweet serendipity. :)I’m yet to do swimming lessons with N, but this is making me think again that I need to make it happen! Wow, all the way into December – that’s a long course, how great!
My girls have been getting along wonderfully lately (they’re in the bathroom and Violet is brushing Olivia’s hair for her right now!), even calling each other best friend.
That looks like some fun water time! It’s still hot here as well.
That was fun! (making the collage in PS) But, I forgot how to use brushes, I’ll have to refresh my memory with your older posts. Thanks for this neat idea! Here’s my link:

How fun! I can’t wait until my two are a little older and can be friends!
Here’s my shot for this week.
What lovely shots and so sweet, young friendship! Thank you so much for sharing and having this wonderful theme for this Thursday 🙂
How fun that you got to reconnect through the swim class! I took Caden to his first swim class when he was just 6 months old! He loved it and we had a blast. I want to do it again, but not sure how that will work with Cole being around too. The lessons are so worth the money…especially with only 3 in a class! That is amazing! Love the processing in these…
Yeah for swimming lessons and friends. 🙂 I’m hopeful when my Mom comes down for the winter that she will take W.W. to swimming lessons at the YMCA. Great pictures.
