The next month is going to be busy!
I am going to be a contestant in the Skirt Fixation blog sewing challenge. The blog is about skirts, but the contest is really anything apparel. I am looking forward to the competition, and already have a few of the outfits done. Now I need to get pictures and get the rest of them done!
I know what I am making, which is most of the challenge for me. Once I get the idea planned out, it is off to the races.
The themes for the sewing challenge are:
- Nature Inspired
- Refashion
- (Hint of) Vintage
- Destash Time
I am going to make everything from my stash, so the last one is a bit redundant for me. 🙂 I have a seriously overstuffed sewing room right now. I made several passes through my local fabric store that is liquidating, so right now there are piles of fabric all over my floor. No room on the shelves!
This contest is helping get those piles from the floor to the hanger.
I am also going to try to sew along for Project Run and Play, which starts on Monday. I have a few of the outfits planned for the kids, so now I need to get that first one done this weekend. It’s gonna be so cute and tween wearable. I ran it by Her Highness, and it passed muster. 😉
So…lots of sewing this month!
You are so good at sewing for yourself, Stacy. I know you’re going to rock this contest!
Thanks so much, Shannon!
I am so excited to be amongst such talent! You are awesome….and can I just say- your EYES??!! WOW.
This is going to be fun!
Oh, thank you, Michelle! My little man has my darker blue eyes, too, and my girl has the lighter blue-gray eyes. 🙂
I’m so excited for you! Have fun. I cannot wait to see all of your creations and what a bonus to make a dent in your fabric stash.
It is such a pleasure to sew with all of you ladies. I really feel honoured, there’s a lot of talent going on.
Oh, I made the self challenge to sew from my stash (and refashion) since the end of 2012 and it’s been going great, so week 2 and 4 feel a little themeless for me… I feel a bit lost, I like to have themes, specific themes… hehehe
Yay! I’m so excited to see you in this competition!
I plan on sewing along with you too. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Tasha, can’t wait to see what you create for the sew along!
Magda, I am really looking forward to seeing how you upcycle into maternity clothes. That will be unique and hopefully useful for others to see how it is done.
Rachel, it will be a dent…but a slight dent. 😉 I really have wayyyy too much fabric for my own good, but it is all so pretty to look at!
