Although we live in a larger town than we both grew up in, sometimes it still feels small within our neighborhood.  We went to the playground at the elementary school on Monday night, and who did we see but our friend with his daughter, Reagan.  We had a playdate at their pool last month.

For the next 45 minutes or so we wandered after the kids, at times helping them, as they played on the plethora of play equipment.  When we were kids we had a slide, teeter totter, bars, tires and extra tall swingsets.  Apparently, the teeter totter, tires and extra tall swingsets are no longer in vogue as they tend to lead to falls, blood and ER visits.  They were fun, though!

Nowadays the equipment at playgrounds make the adults yearn to be kids again.  It looks like a lot fun!  Yet another item for our list to show the kids how lucky they are and how “tough” we had it growing up.

In looking at it, though, we had freedom and they have spiral tunnel slides.  I think we had it better.
