This weekend we sacrificed the amusement park for some sanity. At least we weren’t talking it up to the kids, since that would have led to some disappointment. We needed some time to recoup and recover, since the rest of the weekend was busy.
We had a very small get together Friday evening for Brian’s birthday. We drank several bottles of good wine. 🙂 I got him a nice heavy wine decanter and a picture of the kids.
On Saturday night was the wedding and reception. A good time was had by all. It was a nice small gathering at a restaurant they rented out and they had a DJ after dinner. I hadn’t danced in forever, and that was so much fun. I love dancing!
On Sunday I took pics of our friends. I will get them up on my photography site today, but I didn’t have a chance to get them all edited. My computer was driving me batty again. I could have gotten them done if it wouldn’t have taken so long to “think”.
Hopefully this week will be an easier one, but I doubt it. We have swimming tonight, I am hosting our neighborhood bunco group tomorrow night (with not enough people – I just want to cancel!), Wednesday Brian has poker (not at our house this time – thank you!!), and we might have my parents over this weekend (which will be low key – so not a big production) where we will hopefully go to the Renaissance Festival before it closes down. I have to finish editing the pictures for my friends and burn some CD’s for sessions I have done. I promised a Mei Tai for my friend, Bek, for her new nephew that she is head over heels in love. Halloween is coming, so that means I need to make the princess her Fairy Princess costume (which I need to get to the Ren Fest to buy her some wings). *sigh* No rest for the wicked.
I’ll just look at this and sense the peace and calmness wash over me – I love our little lake.
Mmm… What a serene scene….
GORGEOUS SHOT!! What a peaceful place you live! You are a very busy girl…take some time to just sit if you can!! 🙂
Kids are yellin’ in the background and I am off near your lake.
Great shot
Yea, and stay near the shallow end. Busy is good. Lovely lovely.
Good for you for saying enough it enough and saying no to the amusement park! There really can be too much of a good thing. You guys sure do have a lot going on! I hope you get some time to JUST BE….you know, idle :)…down by that GORGEOUS lake.
oooh, hang in there! You make my life sound calm and easy, and all this time I thought I was busy!
Happy Birthday to Brian!
Stacy, you inspire me! I’m getting off the couch RIGHT NOW and going to work on a project I’ve been putting off. Thank you!
Oh, I needed that lovely, serene photo today. And I’m glad you got a little time to unwind this weekend!
Beautiful shot for some serenity. 🙂 My last week and this week feel a lot like yours. Although our wedding to attend is this weekend in Colorado.
What a serene photo…I want to be right there!
You sound as busy as me. I love the photo, it is so calming!
This is gorgeous!! So peaceful and calming…
