I thought I would ask this question of others, the same as it gets asked of me. Plus, just explain when I do things.
Working full time, means that I have limited time during the day to get things done. My blogging happens when I think of things I want to talk about. It generally happens at work, so I open up a Notepad and start typing. Inspiration can happen at anytime, so I quick write things down when it occurs.
Mornings are getting up around 6:30-ish and getting us and the kids ready. I drop off the kids and go to work, usually rolling in around 8 am, and work until around 5:30. I go home and make dinner, maybe start some laundry, sort mail, etc. while I cook.
Brian comes rolling in with the kids around 6, whereby they declare which cartoon must come on the tv this very second. We eat dinner at 6:30 pretty much every night. “We” is loosley defined as Brian and I. The kids don’t eat much, whereby we do battle until around 7pm. Then it is bath night every other night. Usually during their bath, I try to have some laundry to fold. I will fold laundry on the bed in our room while they play in our big jacuzzi tub. That I never get to use.
There’s playtime, storytime, etc. and the kids are shown their beds around 8:30. Then they get up several times before our threats to take away their blankies/transformers finally sink in and they fall asleep.
In the meantime, I will be figuring out what I want to do that night. I will download pictures off my camera and edit them, or scrapbook, or sew, or go exercise *gasp*. Yes, I have been exercising. Shocking. I have been getting back into exercise now that work is saner. I watch my DVR’d TV shows while I edit pictures or scrapbook. I watch movies while I exercise or sew…no DVR on the little basement TV.
After Brian cleans up the messy, messy kitchen (I’m a messy cook), he usually is playing one of his computer games or reading a book or playing poker with the guys or playing volleyball.
I usually end up going to bed between 11:15-11:45, and Brian heads to bed about an hour after me.
I just don’t understand why our kids don’t sleep much. 😉
Wow, I’m tired now.
Ugh. I am tired just reading that! You’re a busy mama!
My husband complains that I never just sit and watch TV. I’m always knitting or cooking or something. It just baffles him.
I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one. After all, TV makes for great background noise…enough content to keep you going when things get slow but not so much that you can’t concentrate when you’re having a complex moment with the project you’re working on.
Ok, now it’s my turn to ask where do you find the energy? People like to ask that of me too but you cram way more than I do in before bedtime. I get up at 4:30 am and am home by 5:15 PM doing all very similar things and by the time W.W. is in bed at 8-8:30 I’m passing out right along with him.
Some days I wonder where all our energy to be Mom’s really comes from. 😉
I usually have Saturday morning to catch up on my sleep. The hubby and I switch days on the weekends and one of us gets to sleep in. If I don’t get my Saturday re-charge day I am dragging! Of course, lately I still get up before 9am on Saturday, but just being able to lay in bed for a bit is bliss!
Oooh, I am tired. You get so much done in so little time. I rarely go to bed before midnight, but I’m also rarely up before 7:00. Whew.
But you do have one ace up your sleeve: a husband that cleans the kitchen!
Oh my goodness !!!! You are on the go ALL the time !! That is amazing !! How do you keep from falling apart ??
If I stayed up until 11:30 and then had to get up at 6:30, I’d be non-functioning. Really.
A mother’s life…tiring indeed.
