Yesterday whilst I was shopping over my lunch hour I saw some lovely Hot Wheels stickers. They were all colorful and puffy. Very fetching. They would look fabulous stuck to a certain two-year old’s shirt. I just had to have those stickers, since I could just see Kailan’s face once he looked upon them. Utter and complete joy was expected.
When I picked him up from daycare I let him hold those precious puffy car stickers. He caressed them, looked at them from every angle, and tried to figure out how to open that dang packaging between him and his stickers. He then resorted to asking mommy every 30 seconds to please open them while she was driving the car home.
I explained to him that they were very special potty stickers. He could only have one if he went potty. Mama was going to hold them hostage until I saw some pee in that pot.
As soon as we got home, Kailan could not get his pants down to his ankles and hop on that potty fast enough. Of course it took him awhile to go potty, but he was not leaving that potty until he got his reward. He probably sat on the pot for about 15 minutes, all the while holding his stickers trying to figure out which one he wanted.
He got his reward, though.
And mommy’s reward….
Cleaning up the pee since his little unit was not in the potty when he went. Ah motherhood…full of glorious moments, just like this!
