Well, it has finally happened.  Kailan has officially stopped wanting to be kissed. *SOB*  I was so dreading this day, hoping that it would be well off into the future.  Like when he’s 50, or something.

The other night as he was proceeding to bed, he looked at me as he was walking by and quite seriously said, “No kiss, mommy.”

That cuts…that cuts deep.

Little did he know that what he wants and what he gets…he has no control over.  I did compromise with him, though.  After he tells me, “No kiss, mommy” as he places his hands in strategic positions on his kissable little cheeks, I ask him if he wants to kiss me.  He will usually do that, since then HE has control over the kissing.  That usually works to my advantage.  It’s all about how you work the situation.

I have also perfected the “kiss sneak attack” and catch him unaware.  Then it becomes a game where he tells me “No kiss, mommy” as he waits for me to find a way to kiss him.  That works, too.  I have figured this kid out.

The mommy always finds a way to win.
