On Friday, since so many kids were absent from their parents taking them to fun places we wish we could visit, our beloved daughter and son were thrown together in the same room all day.  Not a problem right?  When I came to pick them up, I asked the teacher how their day went.  The lovely lady was snickering as if she had a joke and just couldn’t wait to tell me.

She said they had “A good day after the first 10 minutes or so. You’ll see what happened.  Here are the incident reports”

 First report:

Kailan was bit on the left hand (thumb mostly) by another child over a toy.  Comforted with hugs and washed with soap and water.  Kailan returned to play happy.  Did not break skin, no blood present.

Hmmm…the lightbulb is slowing coming on.  Next report:

Anya bit another child over a toy.  Told Anya that we need to be nice and that is not okay to bite.  Then redirected her to another activity.

Lightbulb is now fully lit.

Me:  So…Anya bit Kai?

Teacher:  Yep!  I asked if I needed to write up a report for it, and they said I had to do them.  They were fine together after that.

Our little carnivore.  Apparently family must taste the best since we are usually her first choice when it comes to her next snack.  She hadn’t bitten in awhile, so I guess we are now back at it.  She bit me once over the weekend, too.  One can only hope that when she starts eating like a toddler (which, of course, means not eating much of anything), she also loses her taste for other toddlers…and mommy.
