God must really like me, since he gave me a girl.  I was hoping for another boy for Kailan’s sake.  He would have a brother and they would play football and grow up doing manly things together, like seeing how far they can spit.  I would also get to forgo the teenage girl hormonal outbursts, so that was purely selfish on my part.

When the ultrasound tech told us she was a girl, we were momentarily disappointed at that prospect. That didn’t last long, and I started rubbing my hands together in glee at the prospect of shopping for a girl.  Have you seen all of the cute little outfits they have for girls these days??

Unfortunately all that shopping does come at a cost.  This is a fact which our financial planner makes certain to point out every chance he gets.  Brian loses one more month of early retirement each time Gymboree comes out with a new line (well, I usually wait for it to go on sale).  At least I stay away from the insanely high prices at Baby Nay and Baby Lulu.

So, in an effort to keep everyone (mostly) happy, I decided to make a few Fall outfits for my little doll.  A cost effective way to clothe her in outfits that would cost 4 times as much if I bought them in a store.  These are one of a kind treasures that she will look adorable in prancing around daycare, and make all the other toddler girls wish their mommies could sew like me.  *daydream over*

Here is a link to the album showcasing my weekend’s worth of work.  I only punctured my fingers a few times and had to rip everything apart just two or three times. A roaring success, if I do say so myself.  *hurting my arm patting myself on the back*

I’ll add outfits as I complete more of them as I have quite a large stack of fabric waiting to be sewn.  Yet again, our children will not go out in public naked.
