We braved the cold on Friday night to greet Santa and his two reindeer. The mall gave out bells for the kids to shake. Some friends showed up (Anya and Kai’s swimming partner) and the kids all anxiously awaited his arrival. Santa arrived and the kids got all excited and then we scooted inside so we wouldn’t be too far back in line.
After waiting 30 minutes the kiddos got to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas. Hopefully Santa can get it right this year, since last year he dropped the ball. 😉
I was surprised that they let the parents take a picture of their kids and didn’t ban cameras. They were selling photo packages afterall. Very nice – that saved us $24! Not a fantastic shot due to the lighting, but it captures the moment. 🙂
We got to see the reindeer in their pen after they gave Santa their wish list. Kailan asked, “Why is there only two!”. You can’t sneak anything past these kids. 😉
Aw, what a cute photo! Is it really SANTA time at the mall, already? sigh.
I think the shot came out great. Its colorful and bright on my end and the interaction with them and Santa is so cute. I remember taking Ella’s picture last year too and thought the same thing. I ended up buying one of thier shots because I felt guilty, but maybe this year I will just walk right through!
great shot of the munchkinmymeisters, (gr8 looking kids) and thanks so much for the touchup of the shot of our little meister:o) we owe you big time.
It is a precious moment…darn my boys for growing up so quickly!
And yay for take your own photos!

Awesome that they let you take your own picture… I’m sure it was better than theirs 🙂
Too funny about the reindeer. He’s a smartie.
I love how colorful the picture is and how the kids are smiling instead of screaming (a’la The Christmas Story)!
Stacy,
Great photo! Wow!!! We don’t do Santa here but the kids still love to go and talk to him. Several years ago when our oldest was younger he had gotten out of bed like a gazillion times as we were putting presents out and we ended up lying to him over and over about what we were doing. We felt very convicted of “Santa” that year and have told our kids the truth ever since. It doesn’t seem to take any of the magic out of Christmas for them and we get to celebrate Jesus. We even do a birthday cake instead of cookies for Santa. It’s just the way our family does it. It works for us. This picture though makes me want that jolly old man to come down our chimney too!!!
IN HIM,
julie
I secretly love when they don’t ban cameras. I need to save pennies where I can.
i hope we can sneak our camera in again this year, too! i think it is a great capture and your santa looks pretty authentic, too! fun!! i’m so excited for Christmas!
Wow I can’t believe they let you take the photo without buying a package. That’s what they make us do here! Ugh!!! They look like they are deep in conversation with Santa!
Nadia saw Santa with her Baba on Saturday…but I want to take her again myself! The picture they bought it so crappy tho…I really hope they’ll allow me to take one myself.
I love your picture. And really love the background – we usually get jipped in that department, but then again, we avoid mall Santa’s.
My girl’s major concern with Santa right now is whether or not he knows how to sew the “W” on the webkinz feet!
Well it is certainly a cute picture of the 2 of them. They look very animated sharing their Christmas wish lists with Santa. 🙂
Santa already!? I have to do the whole Thanksgiving thing before I can even think about Christmas. A local radio station in my area is already playing 24 hours of holiday music and the stores are decorated to the hilt! I’m planning my gifts and have even made some, but I can’t decorate or listen to music until the Friday after turkey day! Very sweet picture though!
That’s a cool Santa, he had a real beard and not the weird fake one.
Thanks everyone! The lady that was taking the pictures was a little…ummm, scary looking. You should have seen the “talons” she had for nails!
Such a clever boy !!
Love the shot !! Good thing Santa is big enough for them both to sit on him at the same time !!
Oh that looks like so much fun. What a great shot. I love how they are looking at each other.
David took the girls there too. I had no idea our mall did that until I saw it in the paper that day. He was the one holding 2 screamig 3 year olds. One because she wanted to go home – “Santa’s scary!” And the other because she didn’t want to go home, she wanted to talk to Santa. They were there for just 5 minutes after Santa arrived. I hope next year is more fun for them. We went to Macy’s 8th floor yesterday and they were afraid of that the first time too. The 2nd & 3rd times around were much better though. It’s really cute this year.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
