These past few weeks we have been pulling out the old toys: tractors, barbie dolls, and horses.  I’m not sure I can truly explain just how gross 20 year old barbie doll hair feels.  No wonder collectors want them in the box.  If they took them out of the box and felt their hair they would want to throw those suckers in the garbage.  As it is, we are keeping the disgusting-hair barbies…in the basement of course…since they will do what toddlers do…destroy them.

The tractors were covered pretty thoroughly in dust and really needed to be cleaned up.  Kailan couldn’t hardly stand his own skin while daddy washed the tractors up.  Of course he wasn’t allowed access to all of the tractors.  Some are still in their boxes, so perhaps one day they will be worth something.  We tried looking some of them up on eBay, but they weren’t worth as much as we thought they might be, but also we just couldn’t find some of them.  We probably need to sell them at a trade show to get a good price.

In true toddler fashion, as soon as he was given a tractor he whined until the next one was cleaned.  We were almost to the point of putting them all back!  I am sure at some point our litte boy will start to understand that “Wait”, “Not yet”, and the awful, heart-wrenching “No” are not the end of the world.  Perhaps he will even quietly do as he is told instead of subjecting us to the whining crying.

Someday.  Soon.  PLEASE!
