We always try to take our kids on an “adventure” (aka to a fun place) for their birthdays. The day starts with us sleeping in (as much as we can!), and then we go to The Pancake House for a yummy breakfast and hot chocolate. The kids thoroughly enjoy their hot chocolate.
Next is the adventure. We went to the big mall, and their newly re-branded theme park. It was all Nickelodeon, so the kids were excited to see largish Dora, Diego and Swipers all around the place. We spent 4 hours there going on rides. Yay us! The kids had a great time and the best thing about going during the week when school is in session is that there are no lines. That kinda makes the super expensive ride day pass worth the money. Sorta.
Kailan had his party with his family on Saturday. He was very excited to get many presents. He played with his new bat cave while watching Kung Fu Panda today. It was fun stuff.
Last night we had a holiday party at Brian’s boss’ house. Our sitter came and Kailan told her she forgot his present. Poor boy didn’t get enough presents at his party earlier, it would seem. Poor, poor little guy. 😉
The kids look like they had a BLAST!
Are their birthdays close together?
Rockin’ outfit, Anya. And they look good in face paint.
Anya’s outfit is wonderful. Looks like a very fun time at the rides. Anya’s face in the 2nd picture is priceless.
Rachel – no their birthdays are well apart. Usually we just take each of them out on their own with us, but Anya got jipped this year for her birthday.
Ohhhhh Anya’s outfit 🙂 She picked it out all herself. It was a dress I made her last year for Christmas and the flannel pants I made as part of her Christmas jammies last year, too. They don’t exactly match. 😉 She had to wear something to match her new sparkly red shoes I found on sale last Thursday. They have a nice plastic layer over the sparkles so hopefully they will last longer than her last sparkly shoes.
Looks like a fun adventure day! I think they’ve got good taste liking the hot chocolate so much!
I absolutely love the expression on Kai face in that first picture!
Tell him Happy Birthday!
I have tried to get Francesco to try Hot Chocolate without success. If I could just get him to taste it I knoew he would love it.
Your kids do know how lucky they are, right? What an awesome day. A three year old and five year old couldn’t imagine anything better. Love Anya’s expression as she looks at Daddy in pic #2!
Too much…”You forgot my present” such a kid thing to say.
Those are great birthday traditions! How awesome that you have such an amazing mall so close by! What a fun day!
What fun! You guys are a totally cool family 🙂 And I LOVE Anya’s Christmas outfit!
You forgot my present!! Haaa, oh that is too much!
I think it looks like a great little adventure!
What fun! We took Ella there for her birthday this year too. She loved it and got her picture taken with Diego…although I think he kinda freaked her out a bit. I dont think she expected him to be SO BIG! I love Anya’s face in the basket. Poor Kailan didnt get a gift from his sitter….I hope he is over it by now!
You can never get too many gifts. Looks like you guys had a blast. That is a great way to spend your birthday.
looks like fun! Happy Birthday, Kai!
December certainly is the month of birthdays it seems. 🙂 Looks like a wonderful outing and the face painting is great. I love that first shot though. What absolute glee.
