There is a holiday tomorrow.  Did you know that??? I know, it’s a shock to me too!  With all the Christmas decorations Thanksgiving has seemed to become a lost holiday.  It used to mark the start of the Christmas season, but these days the stores are filled with Christmas decorations right along side the Halloween decorations.

I remember going to my Grandma C.’s house every Thanksgiving.  The menfolk would be hunting in the woods, there would actually be snow on the ground, and it was a big celebration.  Occassionally we would be privy to seeing a dead deer.  Now, what is a holiday without seeing a dead animal??

We still get together with family now, it is just different.  Maybe as a child every celebration is a big production.  There are tons of sweets, yummy food, everyone gets all gussied up…you can tell that the day is special.  However, children do not see the behind the scenes stress of the holidays.  They don’t have to do all the cleaning, meal planning and food making.  All we had to do is eat and play with our cousins.  Pretty simple work!

To all our friends and family, we wish you a wonderful Turkey Day!  So many things to be thankful for this year and we hope that your year has been one full of blessings, too. 😀

Happy Thanksgiving
