Theme Thursday – COLD

I know this will mean different things for different parts of the country.  We are supposed to warm up to the 30’s today, so that is a warm front coming along for us.  Whoohoo!

I’m hoping that we can maybe take the kids to the Winter Carnival today since it’s WARM and all…but we’ll see.  My back decided to poop out on me this week, so we’ll see how it feels about walking around downtown.

You see, when I was a smallish child of eight my horse decided she felt just fantastic and little bucking was in order.   Unfortunately, I was on her at the time and unaware she felt so dang good.  I landed on my neck in the picker bush.  I’m not sure what was worse…being stuck with tons of pickers or a lifetime of back pain.  All I remember is a big huge picker in my finger that hurt.  Just my finger hurting…that’s it.

I generally prefer not to go to the chiropractor until I’m in intense pain, so NO…I haven’t done anything about it this time.  I went for a time when I was in college, and it got to the point that I could sneeze and throw my back out.  It was so used to getting nudged around that it didn’t know where the heck it was supposed to be.  I think he was just using my insurance as a milking machine because he recommended I go to him wayyyy to often.   Now, if I can walk, I just don’t go.  I can’t walk well, but I can walk. 😉

Fun stuff.

Here’s another picture for the further adventures of sleeping Anya.  Brian captured this one.  This is actually where I placed her after finding her sleeping at the top of the stairs.  Yeah.  Her blanket was laid out all nice and she was sleeping on top of it.  Not right at the edge of the stairs, though, so no worries.  She was smart enough to give herself at least a foot or so.  I think we need to find a lock for her door or somethin’.

Kitty is all, “That’s right, Human, this pillow’s mine!  You go sleep at the foot of the bed.  That’s what you get for picking me up like a sack of flour and carrying me around.  Revenge is sweeeeeetttt!”
