Theme Thursday – COLD
I know this will mean different things for different parts of the country. We are supposed to warm up to the 30’s today, so that is a warm front coming along for us. Whoohoo!

I’m hoping that we can maybe take the kids to the Winter Carnival today since it’s WARM and all…but we’ll see. My back decided to poop out on me this week, so we’ll see how it feels about walking around downtown.
You see, when I was a smallish child of eight my horse decided she felt just fantastic and little bucking was in order. Unfortunately, I was on her at the time and unaware she felt so dang good. I landed on my neck in the picker bush. I’m not sure what was worse…being stuck with tons of pickers or a lifetime of back pain. All I remember is a big huge picker in my finger that hurt. Just my finger hurting…that’s it.
I generally prefer not to go to the chiropractor until I’m in intense pain, so NO…I haven’t done anything about it this time. I went for a time when I was in college, and it got to the point that I could sneeze and throw my back out. It was so used to getting nudged around that it didn’t know where the heck it was supposed to be. I think he was just using my insurance as a milking machine because he recommended I go to him wayyyy to often. Now, if I can walk, I just don’t go. I can’t walk well, but I can walk. 😉
Fun stuff.

Here’s another picture for the further adventures of sleeping Anya. Brian captured this one. This is actually where I placed her after finding her sleeping at the top of the stairs. Yeah. Her blanket was laid out all nice and she was sleeping on top of it. Not right at the edge of the stairs, though, so no worries. She was smart enough to give herself at least a foot or so. I think we need to find a lock for her door or somethin’.
Kitty is all, “That’s right, Human, this pillow’s mine! You go sleep at the foot of the bed. That’s what you get for picking me up like a sack of flour and carrying me around. Revenge is sweeeeeetttt!”
Hi Stacy! Goodmorning to you!
Oh girl… that kind of “warm front” is just plain mean! I mean, seriously, who started that cruel joke?
30 degrees is not even close to being a “warm front”…. They should just say, “It’s still cold ladies and gentlemen, and don’t even think about hoping or wishing for it to warm up anytime soon.” 🙂
I won’t even tell you the weather here in AZ…nope… I would NOT do that to you.. Not in a million years!
I am not going to tell you that the high yesterday was a beautiful 74 degrees yesterday… now that would just be plain not right to do that to you! Like salt on a wound! heesh! What is wrong with people…. 😉
Hugs.. Amy
Sorry bout the back pain. :o( Had a similar experience with a steer when I was younger. I waited on the roof of the feeding shed till he came out and hopped on for the 8 second ride. Lasted about 1.2 got all wrapped up in his back legs with him doing a tap dance on my head. (gave the song should a been a cowboy) A whole new meaning. LOL Hope you get feeling better. :o)
It was about 30 for a low here last night. got some pretty blue sky and a gorgeous sunrise going on, we are planning on taking Itty Bit up to Seattle for a ferry boat ride today. You know Rach will be taking her new camera :o)
Have a great day at the winter carnival.
Well, I see my husband has already posted that we plan to head north for the day… but I still haven’t told him my back hurts like the dickens so we may change those plans.
So sorry about your back pain. I know what you mean. Mine is still yucky from that accident that totalled Ducky. And I am on the fence over whether the chiropractor appointments really helped. Massage was a bit of a joke – I’m WAAAAY too ticklish!
Best bet is a hot bath and one of those great disposable heating pads stuck to your shirt.
And I love your narration of the kittycat/Anya sleeping arrangement! And you finally got a shot of Anya in her princess bed! 🙂
Back pain is the worst – what a a bummer for you! 🙁 I hope it feels better soon!
That Anya is too funny — I love the wild way that kids sleep sometimes…too funny!
That photo is just flat out funny!! Our dog does this to US!
Oh. My….the top of the stairs? Yikes! Maybe a gate for her door? Since she’s older, maybe she could work it when she’s awake, but hopefully not while sleepwalking! We have a gate on Caden’s door…he’d never go to sleep if we didn’t have one!
I hope your back is feeling better! My back injury was a car accident when I was 19. The Chiropractors are good about stringing you along…have you ever tried cortisone injections?
Ouch! Sorry to hear of your back pain~
LOL-she does find some crazy places to sleep…
Thats kinda scary that she plops down and sleeps in certain places….but the mommy in me also thinks its oh-so cute. I love going in late at night to cover Ella up again. They are just in lala land and are a bunch of snuggle bugs!
“Awww, that’s a cute picture!” says Nadia. I agree. I hope you’re back’s better son. I’ve been sick for the last week but have not been to the doctor, so understand! I probably shouldn’t tell you that it’s in the 50s here today and we think that’s chilly, huh?
You are too funny. What a sweet photo of Anya.
Cold. I can do cold. Even in my warm climate. Yeah. I can do cold.
I hope you back feel better soon. I hate back pain, I had so intense unable to walk back pain during pregnancy. It was so bad and even worse with the second that I think it may deter me from a 3rd.
Anya is so funny with her sleep spots. Does she sleep walk or does she get up and consciously find a spot?
I love this picture!!! What a sweetheart.

I love the little sleeper jammies 🙂 Those are the BEST!
