This time the dates were actually on the photos. My mom was hoping I could fix the one of the band, but I don’t think I could do a good enough job. Plus, it would probably take me loads of time I don’t have right now. Ah well. Let this be a lesson to you…don’t tape together photos on the front. How do you like that backdrop, too? Me thinks it would have looked better to take the picture outside in front of actual trees. 😉
LOL at the artificial backdrop – too fuuny. I bet it was very cutting edge at the time. 🙂
I love old photos. I have one of my FIL that has a big crease through it that he wants me to try and fix, I have been working on it for sometime, like you said it very time consuming to fix a photo.
I did almost cringe when I saw all that tape right over their faces. But then I thought, hmm, someone might actually try to recreate that look today. I like how it’s fades and old. It’s unfortunate though that some faces have faded away completely. What a treasure.
I’m all about that second shot. Love the horses standing out front in the snow. When we drove around the Enchanted Circle towards Eagles Nest over the weekend we say a number of horse drawn sleighs parked on the side of the road waiting for winter to come once again. 🙂
As for that first picture, I have to agree, why didn’t they just walk outside? 😉
Love you treasured old pics, Stacy! So neat! I hear ya on the tape..gulp! That’s a toughie to fix. Yikes!
Seriously – you have such an awesome treasure in those pics!
I love how “dated” the first shot is. Would have loved to been around at that time and lived in those clothes 🙂 Though I must admit those band members didn’t look awfully cheerful right then.
Love the horses… another reason I was born in the wrong era. Can you imagine?!?
Thanks for sharing!
what cool shots. No tape on front of pics…check. It’s a shame that they weren’t outside.
I love these old photos Stacy. I think about the person behind the camera too….Setting up the scene and then maybe putting the cover over his head to take the picture (isnt that what they did in the early 1900’s?).
Its too bad the tear is across the faces in the band shot. It would still be time consuming, but I dont think it would be that hard if you didnt have to reconfigure a face!
