What happened to that child that was so content all the time, that nary a piercing cry would emit from his rosepetal lips? Wait, maybe that was just when he was sleeping…or, OR, maybe that was someone else’s child! 😯  Our little man has NEVER been an easy child.

That’s not to say we don’t love our little manic man.  He just likes to test our last nerve, and then test it again to make sure that REALLY WAS OUR LAST NERVE.

Yes, it is time for that what-are-we-going-to-do-with-this-kid post.  So…what???  Is he just out to get us or is this normal behavior???  Lately he has been turning into a fit-throwing little demon come 7:30 pm…which is about the time we are getting him ready to go to bed.  How dare we!  Bedtimes are for babies!  NO BED! NO BEDDDDD!!!!! (I hope you can hear the screaming through the use of the exclamation points, cause it is REALLY loud.)

We get the occassional slaps at us and he tends to kick at us while we are trying to take his clothes off…and laugh.  It is a big game, don’t ya know.  Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy doesn’t it?  We’ve tried calmly talking to him, we tried holding him down to get him to stop the kicking, and just putting him in his bedroom and closing the door…and being super mean parents, taking away his brand new monkey just to prove the point that he is being bad.  Oh, the humanity!  We are awful, awful parents.

The biggest part of this is that he doesn’t want to sleep anymore.  He barely takes a nap and then doesn’t go to bed until after 8 pm and rises at around 6 am.  That is just not enough sleep…for us…and for HIM.

Everything was going fine until daylight savings time.  Damn them!  Who can we call to get this whole daylight savings time thing reversed??  For the benefit of parents everywhere that have to deal with screwed up sleep for their children, I think we need to boycott it.  The rest of the world functions without it, so why can’t we?Â
