Don’t you sometimes wish you could walk back in time to experience the past. Growing up I read a lot of Louis L’Amour books about The Sackets and various other cowboys and pioneers in the old west. Just riding their horses on untamed lands seemed like such a romantic notion. Having horses ourselves I would often go on rides and pretend to be in the olden times riding over terrain seldom seen. Growing up on a farm gives you lots of areas to go and pretend…when you aren’t doing chores, that is. 😉
I love looking at these old photos of our family. It give me a sense of history. I wonder what pictures our future family members will be looking at when they look back at us and try to catch a glimpse of our lives. I hope they can sort through all of the MANY many pictures we have. Hopefully they will survive so they can view them.
Here’s a little bit of my history. I bought 4 of these Asian parasols for photoshoots. Hopefully someday I can use them like I want!
Then, of course, we will have these cute little munchkins to show for our time here on Earth. We hope we are teaching them well and they will become the good hearted little souls we can see inside of them.

What HISTORY do you have to show today?
Although I don’t really regret or want to go back in time in my life (I’m pretty happy with choices/decisions we have made) I LOVE reading about Elizabethan times and old English books. I would love to go back and spend a few hours during the whole Henry VIII time period…that would be cool. And the dresses! I would so love to wear them for awhile (probably only a few hours on that too!).
I had a good idea about the history between my sister and I that I was going to post, since she is coming to visit me today, but since she is coming to visit me TODAY, I just haven’t had time to pull it all together. So I don’t have a Theme Thursday today…I’ll be back next week. (Gah! Maybe!! Next Thursday is Em’s birthday!!)
I love the parasol pics of you…they are really stunning. Did you do that with remote or hubby’s help??
Hey, is that a dimple I see in the second pic of you????? LOL
And the shots of the kids are just adorable,,,,,Looks like you history has the makings of beautiful beginning…..
Some of my history was shared with my girls last night. I was cleaning out a closet and found a box of photo albums. These albums were from my childhood 7th grade to 12th grade. The twins sure had fun seeing me at their age now. I am going to scrapbook all these pictures and try to write down my memories.
love those parasols! can’t wait to see what kind of “history” you create with those :).

Raising children is the simultaneously the most awesome and most terrifying experience of my life. Nothing in this life could possible be more rewarding, but boy is it scary. Kids come to us in such a perfect state and it is our responsibility to help mold them in a way that they will fulfill their potential. Like I said, scary. But there is no way I would change it for the world. I mean, all you have to do look into their little faces and all of the joys of these babies overshadow any of our own personal short comings. (Okay, maybe that was a little heavy for 8 a.m.)
Love the photos of you!
Those parasol shots are amazing. I think they may be my favorite shots of you yet!! You are gorgeous. I am pretty confident that my family’s history is very well documented. I have an external hard drive full of photos.
Oh yeah, here’s mine:

Gasp.. are you a brunette now?? Whoa! So mysterious!! Seriously elegant! The backdrop is fabulous too!
Love those parasols.. way fun, Stacy!
So enjoy your heart and your posts!
Hugs.. Amy
Well I have to agree about the chore part of growing up with animals in general. We may not farm, but feeding all the animals sure takes a chunk of time out of the day. One I don’t mind too much really. 🙂 I can’t blame you for buying the parasols at all. W.W. actually tried to open one at the gift store and made me wish I had a few myself, not that I have clue what I would ever do with them. However, your pictures sure look nice. And your little dumplings have wonderful happy faces.
I’m a little behind with being gone most of the week. I’ll catch up in a little bit. However, here’s a visit to the natural HISTORY museum.

My sister and I sued to imagine we were in the olden times too – usually “Little house on the Prairie” style. But I’ve decided I was born in the right century…I could NOT live without a/c!
I adore the parosaul shots!
That is such a cool old family photo. My husband has a bunch of old photos from his family’s butcher shop back in the 30s and 40s, but it went out of business in the 70s. He’s always been sad that he never got to see it.
I love your eye makeup in those parasol shots! Very dramatic!
Here is my Theme Thursday shot!
Your pictures are great!! I was just wondering where you get your backgrounds! I LOVE the first picture of you, so good!
Thanks,
Ashley
I love the innocence in their eyes in these shots of Kai and Anya. They look so happy and silly. Stunning shots of you and the umbrellas. Its amazing how one prop can speak so loud in a shot. And these old photos you have been posting of your family are wonderful. Its so cool to see history in photographs like that.
You are the queen of self portraits, Stacy! Love those…so cool & unique!
Very cool shots of you!!! You’ll be able to use those for photos eventually!
