So…maybe I will start the new year attempting to become healthy. I know…it is bad to be one of “those people” that decide at the beginning of the new year to become healthy. It usually lasts until mid-January and they are back to their old habits. You know, eating potato chips wilst watching Desperate Housewives and using their fancy schmancy new treadmill as a coat hanger. Sounds familiar to me.
I just want to feel more healthy. I have become much too sedentary…I feel like a sloth. All I seem to do at night is sit in front of my computer and either work on photos or cruise the Internet. Although I will still do the photo thing, I really need to back away from all of this time I spend online at night. I need to get up move!
One of the things that bothers me about feeling like a bear that is way past her hibernating time, is that I don’t have the energy to play with my kids. That has got to change. Also, I am so freaking emotional now that I just want to get that under control. If there is even a semi-sappy commercial on TV on tear up. It has been that way since I’ve had my kids and just gotten worse. I think it is partly due to feeling icky and lack of sleep…which is another thing I need to get more of.
Here’s my plan of action:
- Eat breakfast, have some healthy snacks at work.
- Only once a week go and get my yummy coffee drink at Caribou.
- Only once a day have something sweet for dessert/snack and try to cut that out of my diet. I am truly a sugar addict and I need to wean myself off of it.
- Gradually start an exercise routine. My plan is the first week aim for 2 times on the elliptical, second week 3 times, third week 4 times and then start adding in weight training on the Bowflex.
- Eat/make more healthy food. I need to find more recipes that are kid friendly and healthy….and taste good. (Is there such a thing??)
So, that’s my plan…I’m hoping to lose the 10 pounds I put on last year between quitting nursing and the holidays. Get rid of my muffin top and control the jiggle…that’s my lofty goal! All my clothes are tight and I feel icky and tired. I just want to feel better mostly and not have to worry about my tummy pooching out when I bend over.Onward!
