Last Thursday it was a wonderful unseasonably warm day. At 5:00 pm it was in the 80’s, so we ate a quick dinner and headed out for a walk. Since we weren’t able to get out on Thursday for Earth Day, we brought a bag to pick up trash along the lake. There wasn’t too much until we went along the walk where it is in front of a large apartment complex. No shocker there, eh?
While the kids were gung-ho about the idea of picking up trash, their attention span was rather short. The only time they noticed any trash was after it was pointed out to them or if they walked over it. Kailan was definitely more into it than Anya, but at least it was a start, right?? 🙂
Plethora of turtles. There were TONS of turtles in this little stretch. Any exposed log in the lake had at least a few of the little reptiles.
We got to the point of no return and decided to complete the circle and go on the unpaved part. Someone wanted to be held and not walk. Any guesses as to who it was?
We got home just as the sun went down behind the trees. While the last part of the trek was a little frustrating in getting them to walk faster (or at all!), it was still so wonderful to get outside in the warmth.
all the pics were great. but that last one, WOW. You really caught the moment…
and when you first started talking about someone wanting to be carried I thought you were gonna say Brian… LOL I loved the shot with him packing Anya.
Welcome, summer! Or spring. Or both.
Great photos!
I am blown away at the turtles! I’ve never seen so many in one place! Our kiddo would have a blast…
Looks like your subjects were pretty cooperative… and even the shot of Brian carrying Anya is pretty darn cute. (I can empathize… Itty Bit never aligns himself to be carried easily these days… upside-down is a favorite)!
So hard to believe that that gorgeous lake was ice a few (weeks) months ago! You live in such a beautiful place!!!
The sunset is calming.
Man, you make me so jealous of your location in the warm weather!!! WOW…How awesome that you can get out and walk that beautiful place!!
Thanks everyone. We do feel very lucky that we live so close to this place, especially since we didn’t even know it was there when we bought our house!
WOW the 80’s! That’s warmer than we are!
The shot of them on the bench is so sweet~
Looks like you found lots of trash, yay for you all!
Have a lovely week 🙂
Great pictures! I have never seen a turtle in the wild before. Very cool.
Those turtles are soooo cute !! I’d love it if we turtles in the lake near our place !! Fun !
hahaha, sack-of-potatoes Anya is too funny!
Such a gorgeous place to have right in your backyard. I guess that helps make up for the winter months!Lovely scenes and lovely captures.
Oh…the lake photos are back! I’m so happy and excited. I LOVE the bench one. That one is just beautiful, but sack ‘o potatoes – that one cracks me up!
Just looking at those pictures make me feel relaxed. I love the one of the turtles on the log.
Maaaaate! Those TURTLES!!!!!!! How cool is that shot???????
I must say I was very lucky with the BA she always loved to walk. My nephew is a hoot however. His Dad LOVES walking and in typical child v parent mode he will do ANYTHING he can to get out of a walk 😀
Still, an upside down princess is a small price to pay for a lovely evening out.
LOVELY place for a walk!!! I’m a bit jealous. We have alot of houses and more houses and more houses to see when we go on walks.
That last shot is so very peaceful. But the shot of K and A on the bench? Awesome!
