Every year for the kid’s birthdays we take them on an outing. This year for Anya’s birthday we took her to see Dora Live! The kids had a great time. I made sure that I had Anya’s Dora Dress clean so she could wear it there. I pulled it out of the laundry just a bit before we left. Yes, this is the Land of Procrastination and I am the Queen! 😉
They let you take pictures before the show, but not during it. As you can see, Kai was super excited.
I was more interested in the soft porn on the ceiling. Avert your eyes little ones!
Gosh, I love old theatres!
We had Anya’s party today with a few of her little friends from daycare. She wanted to invite her whole class, but we didn’t have the energy for that. As it was, we had 5 of her girlfriends and that was PLENTY. Girls like to scream, you know. At least we could have them outside, and seein’ as how we have a playground in the backyard they were thrilled! The weather was nice and sunny…maybe it hit 70. The two hours went pretty fast, and at the end there were only a few tantrums at the end. Ah, kids parties…what would they be without a meltdown at the end??
Afterwards Brian and I sat on our sunporch and decompressed with a glass of wine. This weekend just flew by with everything. At least next weekend is Memorial Day. I love a good three day weekend!
Hope everyone had a good weekend! 🙂
Sounds like a very fun weekend, especially for Anya :)! You are so right the weekend flew by.
LOL, STACY! O my gosh… look at those pics…..lol! Girl, I would have been so miffed.. woooo weee… You are so fun tho… love your heart!!
So glad that your Anya go to go and see the Dora Live show… my 4 year old would have been floored! So I can only imagine how your sweetie felt! How fun!
That old theater is gorgeous !
Wow, that is a beautiful theatre! Cool.
Old theaters, buildings…sigh…so gorgeous. It’s such a shame we don’t build like that anymore. Sounds like a great party (and a great way to wrap it up at the end).
LOL, the soft porn is too funny! And the theatre is too gorgeous. I bet the kids will be talking about that day for a looong time. Glad she had a good party, too!
When I read this title, I was assuming you and Brian got a special day out! I think you need one of those too! 🙂 Looks like they both enjoyed it! And, that ceiling?? Strange place for a kid’s show! LOL!
Now that is what I call a theatre!! Ah yes, the joy of the birthday meltdown. On her 7th birthday the BA refused to come out from under the table to blow out her candles and again this year we had a few tears at the end of a couple of action packed days. She curled up with her head on my lap and wept “I don’t know why I’m crying, I think I’m just a bit overwhelmed.” Unfortunately they can’t say that kind of thing at 4 so they just meltdown 🙂 Aaaaahhhhhh for the glass of wine on the porch.
Hee, Hee…not exactly the place you would expect to see Dora!
K does look very excited (who wouldn’t be?) and I bet A was the only girl there with an original Dora dress, freshly washed!
I love a good three day weekend too, can’t wait~
🙂
5 girls would have been more than enough for me too that’s for sure. I think about the birthday parties I’ve organized for my step daughter and they all HAD to have games and prizes and needless to say a lot more than 5 showed up. 😉 And you’re right they do scream alot. LOL
Old theaters are excellent places for pictures that’s for sure. Hope Anya loved Dora Live.
