I know I have spoken about this before, but sometimes the kids just drive us batty. It’s like we are raising a couple of monkeys that just live to irritate each other…and rip the house apart in the process. Craziness.
The kids are at that age where they know, just know from the tops of heads to their long little toenails, just how to make each other mad, cry and retaliate. Weekends are so much fun, being a referee for the majority of it. We seriously need to have those striped shirts on at all times.
Now that they are both quite mobile, stair climbing, can-be-anywhere-in-the-house toddlers, we are not always in the same room as them. We may be downstairs in the library on our laptops, while they are upstairs playing together. (Libraries are for computers right, not books?? We have many, many books in there…they look nice…someday we may even read them!)
All of a sudden we will hear a scream or screams, then the crying will ensue:
Kai: “Sister hit me”
Anya: *seen hitting her brother* “No, Kai!”
So, then the parent needs to figure out which one was the instigator, the instigatee or if they were both in both roles at some point. It is usually the latter.
For some reason Anya likes to play with the same stuff as her brother…maybe she likes him and wants to be just like him. So, she spends her days and nights plotting. Trying to figure out what she can do that will set him off…all that thumb sucking isn’t random…she’s in deep, deep thought. Plotting. See, she even looks like she is plotting:
Kailan on the other hand lives to whine. I’m sure if there was some sort of toddler competition for who could whine the longest and most loudly, he would win…hands down. We’re used to it, though. It’s just a part of his luvable personality! He uses his sister’s stealing of his toys to whine LOUDLY about how she TOOK HIS TOYS! Heaven forbid he not put them right in front of her to allow her the opportunity to steal them. Oh no, then he couldn’t whine about it!
Some days…
Such is the life of the parents of toddlers.
Hi!
I saw your comment on Tracey’s “Picture This” and was wondering how you set up your make-shift studio. What things did you purchase? How do you have things arranged? I am a very amateur (but budding, I think) photographer, and I’m interested in setting up a studio of my own. I would love some input. And, by the way, your pictures are great! 🙂
Thanks,
Jen
