If you have read about the big bed issue, you may have seen the allusion to the tigers. Apparently Kailan believes that tigers are in his bed.
Normally it seems he likes tigers, so we thought…maybe he just needed a bigger bed so there would be room for him and the tigers. Nope, that wasn’t it.
We tried to convince him that the tigers were in his little bed and when we moved that bed out they didn’t migrate to his BIG BED. Nope, that didn’t work.
Then, we told him that the (stuffed) bears in his bed were fierce and they would fight off any ‘ole tiger. Then, he also brought his sister’s sword Sting (Frodo’s sword) to bed with him, and we told him that if the bears didn’t scare away the tigers then he could fight them off with his sword.
We slept all night long last night. *doing the happy dance*
Hopefully, those bears frightened off the tigers and they are gone for good!
I’d be willing to let my daughter sleep with a sword if it means a full (or even half a full) nights sleep.
Genius.
Sorry to hear that Jenny…having a toddler with sleep problems is so not fun! I was blessed with baby #2 being a good sleeper so she (kind of) balances out our problem sleeper. He was 9 MONTHS OLD when he finally started sleeping through the night and he goes through phases (like these) where he doesn’t really like to sleep so he tortures us. Then there is his sister who slept through the night for the first time at 7 weeks (not counting the day she was born since that was a pretty tiring time), and by 4 months she was consistently there.
