Tonight we went out in search of the elusive toads. We have seen them in our yard the last few days, so we wanted to expand our territory. We made our way to the lake…
We were hopeful in finding a fruitful supply of amphibians. Our search resulted in early detection of the wily little creatures, but further searching proved to be quite daunting. The hopeful explorers were not finding their quarry as they expected. A piddly three toads were all they had to show for their nights adventure.
Mother kept them busy by subjecting them to posing for her…
In which they didn’t always find it so amusing.
In the end, the little toadies were let back into the wild to roam and find their way back home. They will be sure to bring their learning experience back to their families. Be wary of the small ones!
Love little amphibians! What a fabulous day for you. Great shots to remember it all.
I know your kids are adorable but I just can’t get over how green it is there. So so very green. I have green envy. I try to enhance the greens in my pics and it’s yellow. Not green.
Oh your kids are such good sports to let those little guys go! My kids throw fits to have to do that… it’s not a pretty sight, at all!
gorgeous lake tho! My goodness!
What a pretty place to hunt for toads. The photos of them ‘not amused’ cracked me up ! They are so expressive !!
Eeeeeew. Don’t fancy toads much, although I probably would have when I was their age 🙂 Now am I mistaken or is that one of your designs on the front of K’s T shirt????
do you know what my kid would do if she saw a toad, even from a distance?! Scream bloody murder. she is deathly afraid of them for some reason!
And, golly it’s gorgeous there – both the kidlets and the landscape. 🙂
