Oh, Natalie, I had to laugh at that comment! Not about the teeth, but the content, happy part LOL! He has been prone to temper tantrums since he could thrown them. It has gotten MUCH better, but he is a very emotional boy. He can go from happy to sad in 1.2 seconds. When he laughs, though, he has a wonderful laugh. He is starting to find he can tell jokes and he laughs at himself and things around him. He is a sweet boy…most of the time. 🙂
I love that time when kids find they are “funny.” My second graders usually discover those stupid jokes (Why did the old lady throw the clock out of the window…so she could see time fly, etc.) mid year and from then on, it’s a regular comedy hour in my classroom. Then they try to create their own jokes. I won’t even tell you how that goes. I laugh just because they THINK they are funny and that’s worth more than the joke itself. My favorite age in the whole world is 4 years old. If I could spend all day with 4 year olds, I’d be in heaven. They begin to discover the power of words and, to me, that is the most delightful time in childhood.
Your boy is a beautiful boy. I hope today is full of his jokes.
Oh, thanks Natalie! Being a teacher must be rewarding, but I don’t know how you do it. When he is in full temper tantrum mode I really don’t know how I would handle a room full of them! Hopefully he continues to get better at handling his emotions, then 4 may be my favorite year, too. 🙂
I know the teeth are the focus of this photo, but I adore that mouth full of teeth!!! Is he just the happiest, most content boy?
I meant the teeth ARE NOT the focus…
