We woke up this morning to a “Winter Wonderland”. Sounds wonderful until you factor in the blowing snow, the electricity that went out at our daycare center and Brian’s aching back from shoveling the wet snow. I made it into work, but that was after going to daycare, getting the kids out of the car, going into the center only to be told that there was no electricity or heat, putting the kids back in the car, going home and dropping the kids with Brian. He wasn’t even going to bother going to work and was planning on telecommuting. Unfortunately he won’t be able to get much done today now that he has our little messpots.
Anya was pretty funny when I took her out of the car. She was mesmerized by the snow looking at it from INSIDE the car, but once the snow and wind hit her delicate little face you could visibly see the affront to her dignity. “What IS this nasty business???”
Of course her brother was taking his sweet time getting out of the car. That didn’t help.
Mommy: “Come on Kai. Hurry up. Get out of your seat.”
Kai: Leisurely looking around, slowly taking his arms out the carseat straps. Makes sure to grab one of his numerous blankets (can’t go into daycare without a blanket in hand). Tries to get out of his seat with the blanket but that proves cumbersome. Hands the blanket to mommy. Tries to evade mommy while she tries to get him out the car faster.
Ah, Winter…it makes EVERY task so much more FUN!
