Another rather busy weekend! We took the kids to see Santa (yes…already!!) on Friday night. This is Santa’s grand-pooba debut at the mall where he comes in on his sleigh with his two tiny reindeer. The kids enjoy it and then they get to tell him what they want for Christmas. I was asking them what they wanted over their gourmet McDonald’s dinner that night, and here is what Kailan said:
K: I want a foot massager!
M: Ummm…really?
K: Yeah, sometimes my foots hurt.
M: Well, okay, but that is the only thing Santa is going to bring you, so you better make sure.
K: Hmmm…well, mabe not…
In the end he decided on Legos, at my prompting. He just couldn’t figure on what he wanted. I’m sure if Santa HAD brought him a foot massager, then mommy and daddy would have been enjoying that as well. Darn…guess I shouldn’t have talked him out of it! 😉
I took their picture with Santa. They were limiting it to ONLY TWO PICTURES PLEASE. I figured I could get two winners, whereby they probably needed to take at least 6 to get a decent one.
Saturday was by far the most productive day of the weekend. It was dance class, I got my car filled up, washed and the tires pumped up again, then I sewed, painted and did some laundry. I felt like I truly accomplished something when I rolled into bed at 11:30 pm. Then today was less so. We had church, I did a photo shoot, we went shopping for the Christmas Child boxes and some sundries at The Home Depot and I spent the rest of the day editing pictures. I had a few other things I could have been doing. *sigh*
The kids with their boxes. They did a really good job in picking everything out.
Now onto a short week and then some time to relax…hopefully. Or at least accomplish something. Either way it will be nice to have a few days of free time!
Love the boxes!
We missed doing them this year.

We delivered out shoe boxes to church this morning, still one of my girls favorite things to do. Enjoy your short week.
Great picture with Santa!
We’ve done the boxes in years past but didn’t this year … I need to remember to do them again next year. (I think I said that last year too !) The Santa photo is cute ! Well done with your ONLY two shots !
Cute cute santa photo. Nice that they let you take it, I’ll for sure ask about that this year.
Wow – for only getting 2 photos – that one turned out really well! You have a good Santa, too!
Happy short week – may you find some relaxing, or at the very least be very productive and happy because of that!
I would have probably blown it with only two tries. You totally rocked it. Great photo of the little ones with Santa. I love having a nice productive weekend.
Stacy – do you have email subscriptions enabled? If you do let me know, because every time I visit your blog I have to go back and read what I missed! I enjoying seeing all your crafting and sewing. I love to sew and am currently making a pilgrim costume for a neighbor’s daughter! She bought the wrong sized pattern (size 14) for an 8 year old so instead of bothering her I’m just doing my own thing.
You got a great shot with Santa. They are looking right at you too. I love that Santa though….he looks so authentic! :0) You did great on the photo shoot too. The processing is so pretty.
A foot massager?! I think I would have let that one fly, and then reap the benefits of his request myself. ;0 What a GREAT Santa!
What a great shot of them, so cute!
I love when I go to bed feeling so accomplished, hopefully that day is coming again soon 😉
LOL, a foot massager….to funny!!
Hi Stacy. I missed this post the other night 🙁 Those are two cracker pictures of the kids there. I love the idea of the Christmas Box, I think it’s great for the kids to think of someone other than themselves at Christmas. I am really pleased that now, at 14, the BA loves shopping for friends and family almost as much (if not more!) than receiving things hersef. Go figure! I must have done something right! 🙂 We didn’t do the santa photo thing in the UK. I didn’t even miss it until I came back to Australia where we follow the US tradition. I have some reeeeeally bad santa pictures from 2003 onwards which she would KILL me if I put up hahahahah. I missed the cute years.
I am still watching ebay for sergers. Can you remember what your Janome is? Is it a 634D or something? This seems to be a popular model and going for over $200.00 each time. I was hoping to get a machine for under $100.00 but I guess I was being optimistic
:-(. You say you love yours, if it is a lesser model than the 634 it would give me confidence. Any clues?
Love, Arizaphale
