Now that Anya is in the Two’s Room at daycare she is part of the potty training ritual.  At pre-set intervals in time, the mass of toddlers descend upon their miniature throne and take turns trying it out.  Now Anya gets to participate in this, and while Kailan really didn’t do anything for a quite a while once he entered this room, his sister is another story.

She went on the potty 5 times on Friday! FIVE!!  I am just not ready for this yet.  I know it is still too early to say she is ready, since she’s only been in the room for 2 weeks.  I just don’t want to have to constantly be on the potty watch again and make sure I have extra clothes and underpants at all times.  Oh, and cleaning up pee in the carpet.  There’s a reason we don’t have a dog right now.

Seriously, this whole potty thing is for the birds until they can really figure out their little bodies and understand when they have to go.

For instance, when we were coming home on Saturday night and were on the interstate, Kailan said, “My peepee coming out.”  Uh, okay.

“Keep your peepee in Kai.  Daddy will have to find a place to stop first.”  We were just about to Minneapolis, and it really wasn’t a good area to stop.  Luckily he made it another 15 minutes until we were able to stop so he could let his peepee free.

That is what worries me about potty training early.  Is she going to be able to control her little bladder to that degree?  With summer and frequent car trips coming, I don’t want to have to worry about it quite yet.  Of course, there would be less clothes to clean, too.  Hmmmm…

Guess we’ll just wait and see what the little princess has in mind.

Incidentally, the other night while I was putting her to bed I said, “Night, princess”.

She retorted with, “No mommy, not princess.  I Anya.”  She’s just too cute for words. 🙂
