During our vacation break I kept busy. When I wasn’t reading, I made a few items on my knifty knitter looms.
Gray wool armwarmers using the flower loom. About 35 rows in the round, then 7 back and forth for the thumb and then another 5 rows in the round. I only used one yarn for this, but it was a thick wool.
A long black decorative scarf using Patons silk bamboo yarn. This is several movies into it and at least 2 yards long. It is wrapped several times around my neck here, but I wanted it nice and long so I used the whole 102 yards of yarn for it. It is super soft.
Black short scarf. I used two yarns on this. One was a boucle and one was a fur fringe, and it took awhile. Many, many hours (I’d say at least 5 or 6). I am using a nice silver pin I purchased from my friend that sells Silpada jewelry to close it. This and the armwarmers above kept me nice and warm at a scrapbooking day at a local church. It was freezing there, just like last time. Of course, when I was driving there it was -19…that may have had something to do with it. I was prepared this year, though.
I also made a short brown scarf. Too short for me actually, so it went to Kailan. Just as well…he lost the fleece scarf I made him a few winters ago. Sorry, I didn’t get a picture of it, yet. Hopefully at one point I’ll catch a shot of him wearing it. I have no idea what he did with the hat I made him. I’m surprised he has any gloves yet, as well. He is not so good about keeping track of his stuff. Ah, kids!
On another photography note, I took these pictures with my old D50. Apparently my remote doesn’t work with my D300s. *sigh* I need to do some research to figure out what I can get for a wireless remote, without it costing a kidney.
On another weather related note, I hope that groundhog tells us that winter is over soon. We are ready for some warm breezes up here. Last week we were in the negative degrees again. It also snowed yesterday. It sucks most spectacularly.
And on yet another note…I did FINALLY get pictures of the basement this weekend. Hopefully I will have a few posts up this week on it.
That is all… 😉
And on yet another note, HELLO SMOKIN’ HOT MAMA! You look AMAZING. Doesn’t look like winter’s got you hibernating! I need a picture of you for my refrigerator this winter–perhaps that would help keep me OUT of it! 🙂
I know this post isn’t about your body, but holy cow, woman – you look great! Jealous!!!!!
I love all your knifty knitting. Now that I am all caught up from the holidays I might have to invest in a couple of looms. I bet it is relaxing. Like you I have issues just sitting in front of the tv.
I LOVE the short scarf! You totally pull off so many styles I could only dream of making look remotely cool!
Oh, and since I’m feeling the crunch to get off the computer and get crackin’ on my to-do list…I’m leaving my jeans post comment here too. You gave me motivation to stay on track for our little weight loss competition! Here’s hoping I’ll someday be proud enough to snap a pic of my jean-clad tush…
Your hard work is paying off!
I totally love that little short scarf (the arm warmers and long scarf are awesome too!) it is awesome. And that model? She is smokin’! I think those jeans were worth every penny, my friend. They look awesome.
ditto everyone else. Your hot bod totally takes center stage in this post. Smokin! I love how adventerous you are with style, I would like to wear stuff like that but don’t feel like I can pull it off! oh yeah, and the actual scarves and warmers are pretty cool too
You know the groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter aren’t we all lucky! LOL I like those arm warmers, somehow they remind me of leg warmers….maybe I need to watch fame again. I think my mind is wondering a little far off the deep end now…back to work.
Ok, firstly one word…. TINI!!!
Goodness gracious, Stac!! You are so tini tiny!!! Woo weeeee!!!
