Birthday’s around our house are reserved for those big ticket-item presents.  Really, mama buys them clothes and shoes all the time, so they need something really massive to feel our love.  I hope this is not something they come to expect because on their 16th birthdays they may expect a car…and that ain’t gonna happen!

Last year we got Anya her cute little rocking bear…which she got a little early since mama didn’t want to wait.  She’s used it, oh a dozen times maybe, but it’s cute so it was so worth it.  This year Anya got a child sofa from LB Creek Home Furnishings.  I asked the owner if he made little sofa’s, since he made little chairs, and he said that he wanted to but hadn’t yet.  So, this is the first sofa that he made and he did a great job. 

It is brown ultrasuede and has two little pillows that have animals on them.  Just perfect for little ones!  It is definitely a piece of furniture and not like those little foam sofas.  Now the kids have a place to read their books in the library, which is one of Anya’s favorite things to do.  Hopefully she will use it more than a dozen times.
