The other day I was in my favorite place in the whole wide world…a shoe store. The only place where I actually use and rack up the points for a frequent buyer card. Anyways, I took Anya, shoe-lover-in-training, to try on some summer sandals. As we were leaving with our prizes, I told Anya we need to look at shoes for Kailan. She disagreed, but followed me anyways.
What did my eyes behold, but Spiderman sandals…that lit up!! I knew our little man would LOVE them, so I looked for his size. No deal. I asked the nice store clerk if I could get his size. The lovely person said they could, and they would ship them to me free of charge (love Famous Footwear!).
They arrived in the mail and I didn’t have a chance to show him the wondrous sandals until the next morning. He had already place a pair of fairly respectable tennis shoes on his feet, but I couldn’t wait to show him his new shoes.
Mommy: “Kai, would you like to see your new Spiderman sandals?”
Kai: “Where???” His eyes lit up like sparkling little sapphires as the prospect of SPIDERMAN! SANDALS!
Mommy: “Downstairs, mommy will get them”
I showed him his new favorite-thing-in-the-whole-wide-world, with a bonus…they lit up! My goodness you should have seen how fast he put them on.
Yes, I am raising my boy to be a shoe-a-holic. What’s wrong with that??
Nicky has those, and he LOVES them! My boys love shoes, too. Mostly they love boots 🙂
Absolutely nothing! I think everyone should be a shoe-a-holic. My husband has only had three pairs of shoes his entire marriage to me that he replaces when they wear out. I FINALLY got him to buy some cool jeans and hip shoes (because I SO know what is hip and cool) when we had M. Now he LOVES his hip shoes and wants to get another pair in another color–just in case.
Maybe I’ll convert him.
With Spiderman EVERYWHERE right now, my son has definitely fallen under the marketing spell LOL!
Natalie, My hubby is the same way. He owns a few more pairs than yours, but less than ten definitely. Me on the other hand…. 😉
