As parents it is our responsibility to teach our children the rules of the road. You know the ones…
- If the light is red, you stop. If the light is green, you go. If the light is yellow, you go really, really fast.
- If you are stopped at a stop sign, waiting for other cars to go by, you must ignore the little voices in the back seat saying:
Mommy, go! GO mommy! Faster mommy! Why not going?? GOOOOOOO!
- If you accidentally swear wilst driving at a someone that cuts you off, doesn’t use their turn signal, or tries to run you off the road for no apparent reason….calmly explain to your child why that person is a bad driver. Try not to swear while you explain.
- When another car is stopped in front of you at a stop light, it is impossible to “GO FASTER!”. No matter how many times you are asked to “GO FASTER!”.
My boys think that we’re racing everyone on the road. If someone passes us or is already in front of us, we’re losing. If we’re in front, pass someone else, or the only car on the road, we’re winning.
Uh, Stacy, had an experience lately? LOL
I have 3 backseat drivers rooting me on, and I am not a patient driver. :0
Gosh, I don’t know where they get the idea that we need to go fast! 😉
Alissa, that is so funny and totally a guy thing, too. They are learning young, eh?
Melody, I’m not a patient driver either, so I am really glad my kids aren’t in the car much with me. DC is less than a mile from the house so they don’t have to listen to all the swearing that goes on before I get them!
ROFL! You read my mind – especially on the last bullet point.
