Last night we went on a walk around dusk.  When I say “we”, I mean the kids and I.  Brian has had a gout inflamation in his foot for about a week now.  He can’t walk.  He did go to the doctor on Monday to get some drugs, though, so he is getting better slowly.  Upon researching the triggers of gout attacks, it seems alcohol and protein increase the uric acid in the blood and causes it.  Well, since Brian likes meat and wine, this is going to be interesting.

On to the walk…

Kailan wanted to collect some frogs.  Unfortunately, the frogs seem to think it is still a bit cool to be out and about right now.  Poor Kai…he was so looking forward to imprisoning some froggies.  It was still a nice walk, though a bit windy.

Throwing rocks in the water…Kai actually has a pretty good throw!

 Posing nicely for mommy

That bird was holding on for all he was worth…it was WINDY!

Our path…the green part is the “rustic” walking path between the lake and the marsh.  There are lots and lots of geese on it…and their droppings.  You really have to watch where you step.

Geese we frightened off the path…they took to the water to evade the crazy children.  I make them at least stay by me in case the geese get psycho and try to attack.  I haven’t seen any babies yet, so we have a little time before they get aggressive.

See…it was windy.
