Our children will probably be cursed with bad eyesight. It is just a genetic fact, since both their parents have crappy eyesight. However, due to the miracles of modern science, they may not be aware of the fate to befall them as their parents won’t be wearing glasses or contacts.
Shortly after the boy was born, daddy went in and got his incredibly bad eyesight fixed. Apparently, the worse off your eyes are, the more expensive the procedure becomes. Lucky us. Being the strong macho man that he is, he didn’t take the Valium they offered. Then he attempted to not get sick in the car as I drove him home and suffered for the next day.
I’m taking the Valium.
I had a consult this week, and sometime in the next month I am getting my eyeballs lasered. I can’t wait for the moment when I no longer have to worry about wearing glasses. Yay! No more constantly (neurotically) wiping the dust off my glasses. No more having to worry about getting them whacked off my face by an errant toddler hand. No more having to push them up my face because it is so stinking hot that the bridge of my nose has become an oil slick that can no longer support them. Ahhhhh, sweet freedom!
I was lucky enough to get in with the surgeon that has performed the most surgeries in our area. If my frequent blogging all of a sudden stops, then you will know that the procedure was rather unsuccessful.
I’m just kidding…kinda.
Oooh, I’m so excited for you! Everyone I know that’s had it done is so thrilled with it. My husband would love to get laser surgery – someday. :o)
Good for you! I understand the glasses problem, but I’m too scaredy-cat to put in contacts, much less let someone laser my eyeballs! I can’t wait to hear how successful the procedure is for you. That’s exciting news.
Yeah, I’m a little nervous but I really, really want to get this done. I will most definitely post about it! I’m just really happy that I got on the schedule of the most experienced guy. Gives me a little piece of mind. 😀
I did it over 7 years ago and it was the best thing ever! Yep, scary but you won’t regret it.
Mel, glad you had a good experience with it, I really can’t wait!
