Just smile and nod…that is what Brian does when I show him design aspects that he may not agree with.  The painters were not all that sure about the colors either.

But look how nice it looks now!  They all agreed that it really turned out sharp looking.

This was probably the first job the painter boys had after college classes were done, so lucky, lucky us.  They didn’t realize all the edging we had on our house, and when you have such starkly contrasting colors (brick red/dark taupe) you have to do a good job or it really shows.  They thought they would be done by Thursday night.  I looked at all they had to do and thought that to be a lofty goal.  I’m pretty sure I knew more about painting than most of them.

They got done about 4:30 on Saturday…the day before our BBQ.  The lead painter dude came to the door at 3:30 and said, being quite relieved, “I think we are done!”

I did the walk around with him, and pointed out various spots that needed to be painted.  All the soffits were to be red and there were a few that they missed and painted taupe.  Our house has some odd nooks and crannies.  It is a slight tudor style, so it has some detailing on it and isn’t the usual suburban box.  I could have just left it, but we are paying a fair bit of coin for it so it should be done right.

So now our deck REALLY looks like crap.  What to do, what to do…
