Well, I hope I have the day right…I’m pretty sure but I always second guess what day it is. That’s just the kind of observant daughter I am. 😉
*ahem*
35 years ago today my parents were wed in a very hot church in Wisconsin. Being that it was a Catholic Mass, I’m sure it went on for eternity, and when she fainted all the Lutherns in the pews thought it was just part of the ceremony. At least dad caught her. The bride in the next wedding was not so lucky, I hear.
Of course mom was a few months pregnant with my sister at the time, but that is neither here nor there as they were engaged for awhile at that juncture. Dad proposed before he left for the war, and they made it through all the emotional wreckage that comes with being a combat veteran.
Mom and Dad have stayed strong together. They made it through Dad’s war nightmares, losing the farm to bankruptcy, many home renovation projects and two teenage daughters. In this day and age that is quite the accomplishment.
We love you both so much, and here’s to another 35! In which, I’m sure there will be many more golfing and hunting adventures.
By the way, I really need to get a picture of you guys together….hint, hint. 😀
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary to your parents!
Happy Anniversay! I love true love stories.
I hope you got the day right, too.
Happy anniversary to your mom and dad.
Mike
