Another year has come to pass, and that means that Brian is yet another year closer to 40.  How is it that we keep getting older??  Well, at least Brian will get to 40 before me. 😉  As it is, he turned on 38 Sunday.

Yes, I know I’m late.  It’s a perpetual state of being with me lately.

We went out and had some fun with friends on Saturday night whilst the kids had one of their old daycare teachers watching them.  The kids were very excited for us to leave and for them to get her as their sitter.  They had Sponge Bob Square Pants Kraft Mac & Cheese for dinner, and I think they might have been kicking us out the door post haste.

Unfortunately, there was no sleeping in for Brian and I on Sunday (which was sorely needed, let me tell you!).  It was the first day of Sunday school, so we had to make it to 9am Mass.  Back to church for us!  We were pretty terrible about going to church during the summer when we didn’t have to go.  Now that the kids are back into “church school” we are required to go.  That’s okay…it’s good for us.

The day turned out fairly well for Brian…the Packers won and the Vikings lost.  Happy day!!

Then he requested that I make the sausage and gouda pasta for dinner, which is an incredibly fattening favorite in our house.  I added gorgonzola and aged white cheddar, and it was pretty yummy.  I wasn’t quite in the mood for wine (see previous blurb about Saturday night), but Brian opened up a bottle.  Kind of.  The cork broke in half, which is just what you want to happen when you open up a nice bottle of wine on your birthday.  We just put it through cheese cloth and into a decanter.  It worked…sort of.  Took out the big chunks, anyways. 😉

Happy birthday, Honey!  Here’s to another year closer to retirement! 😀
